CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS -

DEADLINE TODAY!!!

Dayspring will once again be filled with beautiful poinsettias on Christmas Eve. Each plant is given as a memorial to, or in honor of, a special loved one or friend. In addition, gifts may also be made to UMOM ’s Shelter for the Homeless in lieu of a plant. Both of these gifts will be listed in our Worship Bulletins, projected before services on Christmas Eve and online. The deadline is 12 noon, TODAY, December 16. Learn more/order

CAPITAL MAINTENANCE MEETING

As everyone who owns a home or other building knows, as the home ages, more and more maintenance is required. Dayspring’s home is no exception. The original buildings were built in 1981, forty years ago. The funds that were raised during the capital campaigns of 2015 - 2019 are completely depleted and there are needs that must be addressed in the next two years. We have scheduled online Zoom sessions when you can learn more. The final is tonight at 7:00pm. RSVP and get the Zoom link HERE.

HANDBELLS AT NOCHES de las LUMINARIAS

Our handbell choirs are scheduled to play on December 17 and 18 from 5:30 to 9:30pm at the Desert Botanical Gardens’ Noches de las Luminarias. This event does historically sell out. Go to https://tickets.dbg.org/webstore to purchase advance tickets.

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

Our children will lead a special telling of the Christmas story during both services this Sunday, December 19, as our Children's Ministry presents its annual Christmas Pageant.

BLUE CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Christmas is not always a joyful time. For those of us who have lost loved ones, are in insecure environments, or are just struggling with life, the glitter of holiday lights is often not a sign of joy but of sorrow. We will join together, this Sunday, December 19, for a Blue Christmas taizé-style service to remember that the light of God shines upon and through us even in the darkness. Learn more

UMCOR DISASTER RELIEF

Following the devastating and deadly string of storms and tornadoes last week, UMCOR is on the ground, supporting conference disaster response coordinators as search and rescue efforts continue and damage assessments begin. Solidarity grants to provide immediate funding have already been released and UMCOR will work with impacted areas to journey from the chaos of response on through long-term recovery. Please continue to hold victims, survivors and relief workers in your prayers and make a gift to UMCOR U.S. Disaster Response and Recovery HERE.

SAVE THE DATES!

Our annual Celebration of Ministry follows the single 10:00am service on January 9. Learn more about all the exciting opportunities to get involved in missions, ministry and fellowship groups. A light lunch will be offered, with donations requested to help support our missions.

A Time to Remember the life and ministry of Rev. Bert Lewis will be held at 2pm on January 15. Pastor Bert served as Dayspring's pastor from 1984-2000.

UMOM CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS

Thank you to everyone who donated to the 2021 UMOM Stocking Drive! With your help, we donated 32 stockings and another dozen gift cards to help make sure children living in the shelter have a stocking with gifts this Christmas!

VACCINE CLINIC UPDATE

On Sunday, we hosted a COVID vaccine clinic through Maricopa County. A total of 185 doses were given, including 50 first and second doses to children and 132 adult boosters!

STEPHEN MINISTRY

The winter holidays can be difficult for people who find themselves struggling in their personal lives; especially for those who have experienced loss or tragedy. Stephen Ministers are highly trained members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. The care they give is confidential, free, and very helpful.
