Dear Holy Name Families,

With the Eagles awarded this week, Holy Name students filled our school with their acts of respect, empathy, courage, and responsibility. We celebrated with a special treat at lunch yesterday.

It has been a busy week. Students in Extended Day were treated to a presentation and concert by the Back to Bach Project. This program provides music education programs to students. Two Holy Name graduates are part of the local chapter of Back to Bach. Holy Name students enjoyed learning about various instruments and types of music.

The second graders have been busy learning about Christmas around the world. Working in pairs, students researched Christmas traditions from different countries. They began presenting their projects and sharing the special meals, activities, and decorations that are used in Christmas celebrations around the globe.

All week students have been rehearsing for Tuesday's Christmas Nativity and Show. They have quite a show in store and look forward to presenting it next week.

Have a great weekend.

Best regards,

Mr. Chisholm

Holy Name in Pictures

This week there was a performance by a group of students from the "Back to Bach" Project. The students showed their instruments to the students. They also provided some history about the instruments. They discussed composers who played and wrote music for the violin, cello, viola and piano. They performed Sleigh Ride and it was magnificent!

A huge thank you to Home & School for providing the gingerbread house kits for K1, we had a fun time using the frosting, candy and putting our creativity to work!

Learning graphing has never been better thanks to the third grade teachers! Third graders brought in their favorite candy canes, graphed and analyzed the data. The young scientists also conducted experiments to see if the candy melted faster in vinegar or water. What a sweet way to learn!

It's Christmas Pajama Day!
