Coronavirus: It's Time to Attack the Attack!
|
|
In April’s e-newsletter, we’re going to do an extensive study that’s devoted to the COVID-19 outbreak.
I’ll share some of what I’ve been preaching in our Facebook live stream broadcasts, doing my part to pull people back from the cliffs of fear and panic. We will see what our Christian response should be to this pandemic. Without doubt, this is the greatest demonic attack against humanity in our lifetime. Make no mistake, this attack is spiritual in origin, designed not only to steal, kill and destroy, but to effectively shut down the Great Commission of Mark 16:15-18.
Therefore, the
only
entity on earth capable of stopping its spread is the body of Christ. Don’t wait for the world to bring deliverance – they’re trying their best, but are severely handicapped because they don’t realize the root of this attack is spiritual, not physical.
We have God-given authority to strike back in faith at the true source of this attack, and we must do this now, with a sense of urgency unlike any other.
Every death is one too many. Every devastated life or family is one too many. Since this virus began to spread, we’ve been inundated with “information” from the world about this issue, 95% of which is negative and fear-based. When I went to the Lord for wisdom and guidance about how to respond to this threat, He gave me these three words:
ATTACK THE ATTACK.
This is to be our response to this virus.

FIRST: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SEE AND HEAR
|
|
|
|
Three times Jesus specifically addressed this. He said:
take heed what you hear
(Mark 4:24
), take heed how you hear
(Luke 8:18),
and finally
, take heed to yourselves
(Luke 21:34).
Taking heed means be careful. Always consider the source for the information you’re receiving.
Mainstream media worldwide consists almost exclusively of people dedicated to the spread of fear, because knowingly or not, they’re the biggest mouthpiece for Satan on earth today.

Fear is an evil spirit and a spiritual force from hell. Believers have not been given a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and a sound mind
(2 Timothy 1:7).
We must have a
sound mind to
attack this attack effectively
.
It’s okay to briefly tune in to the media’s message long enough to gather information for prayer purposes, but don’t waste anymore of your time there - listening to people who don’t know what we know about our God, and the power of faith on earth in the name of Jesus.
Be careful (take heed) what you hear, how you hear it, and then monitor your own responses.

SECOND: GUARD YOUR THOUGHTS
|
|
If fear starts to rise within you, speak to it and crush it in Jesus’ name
(2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
We capture unscriptural thoughts by speaking out loud to them – and fear thoughts are definitely ungodly thoughts.
You cannot allow fear to gain a foothold in your mind, because footholds become strongholds if they aren’t immediately imprisoned with spoken words.
Don’t be like everyone else, who lets the devil develop mental strongholds out of footholds in their minds. Follow the example set by the early church leaders. Give yourself
continually
to prayer and study of the Word of God
(Acts 6:4),
not to a bunch of media morons who have no idea this is a spiritual conflict for the souls of men. Think on things above, not on things below
(Colossians 3:1-2).
Be different.
Realize this whole mess didn’t take God by surprise, and His promises to take care of us have no expiration date.
The grass withers, the flower fades away, but the Word of our God stands forever
(Isaiah 40:8).
Trust in the Lord, and feed on His faithfulness
(Psalms 37:3)

THIRD:
WIELD THE WEAPON OF WORDS EFFECTIVELY
|
|
The effective, fervent prayers of the righteous avails much
(James 5:16).
Effective and fervent prayers are prayers of faith
(James 5:15),
not fear. Fearful praying avails nothing - it’s a waste of time. We here at the MKMI ministry pray prayers of faith, and no other.
We exercise our authority in the name of Jesus, and follow in His footsteps.
We say to this virus:
“Peace, be still! This virus is dead from the roots, in Jesus’ name
(Mark 4:39 and Mark 11:12-21).
The world can’t go where we go, or do what we do. They can’t curse this virus from the root, but we can. Don’t be afraid. If God be for us, who can be against us
(Romans 8:31-39)
? It’s time to take the lead. Attack the attack!

FOURTH:
UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR SYNERGY
|
|
Right now, the world is a ball of confusion and chaos. Fear is ruling over planet earth. The body of Christ must unify our confession, so we create synergy rather than energy.
Synergy defined:
the interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.
Deuteronomy 32:30
explains it this way: One can put a thousand to flight, two can put 10,000 to flight. Christians must be saying the same things, unified in mind, mouth and purpose.
Many believers know nothing about this, but enough of us do to make a difference. Our declaration to the pandemic is this:
Peace, be still.
Esther 4:14
tells us all we need to know about our attitude going forward:
We were born for such a time as this!

I arrived for the first time in the Philippines in September, 1980.
This photo was taken in the spring of 1981, two years before I married Ethel. This was a market day gathering way up in the mountains on the island of Negros. It's common practice to have “market days” in places where it’s very hard for people to go down to a town or village to shop. So, on set days, vendors go to villages like this one, where people have opportunity to buy needed goods and foodstuffs. My interpreter and I went there purposely on market day, to preach to those who were there.
From then until now and beyond, these are the places I’ve dedicated my life to reach for Jesus – going to the out-of-the-way places where nobody else goes.
At that time, there was no MKMI ministry. It was just me. I was helping a Filipino’s ministry at that time, doing my best to help him win souls and grow his church network. If you don’t despise the day of small beginnings, God will bless you, as He’s done with me
(Zechariah 4:10).

FINAL THOUGHT: WE WERE BORN FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
|
"For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish.
Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
Esther 4:14
Have we been born for such a time as this? I know we have, but do you know we have? If you do, you know God will supply everything we need to succeed in life and ministry – COVID-19 pandemics notwithstanding.
Hosea 4:6
says that God’s people perish for a lack of knowledge. That has
always
been the devil’s main weapon to use against us in spiritual combat. He is a totally defeated enemy, but if people don’t know that, and don’t know how to exercise their authority in Christ, the devil will paralyze them with fear & panic - the same as he does with all the unbelievers. The spirit of fear that has gripped the earth since this virus attack started is proof of that fact.
My friend, if we know who we are in Christ, and know how to use the weapons we have been given, we see this virus pandemic differently than everyone else. We remain separated from the fear, confusion and chaos. Spiritually speaking, we see these as exciting times of outreach and evangelism! We were born for such a time as this! God is ready, willing and able to step in and crush this virus, and anoint us for worldwide outreach like never before. But because Jesus delegated His authority on earth to His church
(Matthew 28:18-20, and Mark 16:15-18),
He waits for His children to rise up and be who they already are – Stronger Men for Jesus
(Luke 11:21-22).
This entire pandemic is demonic in origin. It didn’t come from the Chinese, it came from Satan. He just used the Chinese to do his dirty work. The goal here for him is spiritual, not carnal. Of course, he wants to kill as many as he can physically, but primarily, he wants to shut down the church, and stop the preaching of the gospel. This COVID-19-FEAR VIRUS is an attack against the body of Christ, more than anything else. In response, we must
ATTACK THE ATTACK.
