Mass Readings for Today

From the President's Desk

Dear Savio Family,

Blessings to you and your families as we continue to fly through April and prepare for an action-packed May.

So many things are going on and the best part is that they involve celebrating our students and their hard-earned accomplishments. Looking forward to the conclusion of a great Spring sports season, another great performance by our drama department this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and the upcoming Imago Christi Day and Spring Prom. Congrats to everyone!

Including a picture here of the winning team from last Friday's Trivia Night, sponsored by our Quizbowl Team. My understanding is that this team has decided to retire as an undefeated champion. Looks like a nice group of people.

Let's keep working hard, praying consistently, and remember to have some fun along the way.

Take care and God bless!

Tim

We will travel with our school Families to 15 organizations throughout our local community to learn and to offer a helping hand. The faculty and staff of Savio will accompany the students, along with a number of parent volunteers. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Heyl or Mr. Gamboa.

Servant Leader Presentation Night

Parents, please join us for our annual Servant Leader Presentation Night on May 1st from 6:00 - 8:15. This evening represents the completion of long-term projects from our students. The freshmen will be presenting their Capstone projects from their Servant Leader Seminar class while the seniors will be covering their year-long service project. Each presentation will last approximately 10 minutes and there are many exciting topics to see. We hope that you can join us for this important event!

Principal's Message

Dear Savio Family,

Our boys double team finished 2nd and our mixed double team finished 3rd at the State Tournament. It has been a great Spring Season, and our student-athletes continue to work hard and get better each and every day.

I also hope to see you all this week at the Spring Musical, Freaky Friday. Our students have been working hard for months in preparation and are ready to put on an amazing performance. Tickets are still available for performances this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Next week is PROMise week where we will focus on a different commitment each day to help improve the Savio family.

Important update: April Community Session has been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 7th from 9:00 -10:00 am in the Savio SCC. It will NOT be on April 23rd. The topic will be an End of Year Update with Mr. Psencik.

Imago Christi Day is Friday April 26

Imago Christi means in the image of Christ.  On April 26, the entire St. Dominic Savio community will set aside the concerns of the normal academic year to give of themselves in service and reflect on what it means to be a Servant Leader in the Image of Christ. Students and faculty will travel to more than 20 service sites around the Austin area to offer more than 1000 hours of service in a single day. Additionally, students may hear from a keynote speaker, participate in community building activities, and spend time in communal prayer during this unique tradition! We could use your help to make this happen!
