You Can Be A Part
of the Day of Caring
|
Day of Caring began in 1992 as a way to connect employees of local corporations with human service agencies United Ways support.
Thirty-one years later, this annual event offers hundreds of people, of all ages, the opportunity to volunteer at non-profit organizations in the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, and Plymouth.
Last year United Way of West Central Connecticut had over 300 volunteers at thirty locations throughout our four towns. Volunteers mulched and cleaned garden beds, picked up litter, painted porches, organized food pantry shelves, and more!
Are you a company, community group, or individual looking for a volunteer opportunity? Or are you a non-profit in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, or Plymouth that has a project for volunteers?
Contact Manny Martinez at mmartinez@uwwestcentralct.org
by March 31 for more information and ways to register for

In February local care providers came together for the Early Care & Education Regional Meeting. The group focused on advocacy, social and emotional techniques, shared available resources for early care and education, and had thought-provoking peer-to-peer discussions. These meetings are open to all early care providers in Plainville, Burlington, Plymouth/Terryville, and Bristol.
"As an active part of the Early Childhood community in Plymouth, the regional meetings supported by United Way of West Central CT have been an amazing way for me to stay connected to the larger communities around me. The support and sharing only helps the work we do to support young children and their families. It Takes a Village!"
- Lori Borysewicz, Infant Family Specialist, Plymouth Family Resource Coordinator/Early Childhood Specialist -
Thank you to all who attended the Regional Meeting.
