Rochester, NY–June 25, 2024–The 21st Edition of the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival continues today with 12 free shows and events and a full schedule in the clubs. It all starts at Noon for Jazz Starts at the Library, followed by a free Jazz Workshop at 1:30 p.m. with famed drummer, educator, composer, and radio host Jae Sinnett. The Festival continues through Saturday, June 29.

Oddgeir Berg Trio

Based in Oslo, Norway, the trio toured widely across Europe at major festivals and leading clubs such as Ronnie Scotts, performing the gamut of emotions with one leg in the realm of ecstasy and the other in the realm of melancholy. They describe their jazz as "electro-acoustic." 7:30 & 9:30 PM

Giveton Gelin

The 24-year-old self-taught jazz musician from The Bahamas is blazing a trail as a trumpeter, composer, and band leader in NY. Studying at the Julliard School, The Giveton has already distinguished himself as a musician to admire and one to watch for the future.

The Clements Brothers

George (guitar) and Charles (upright bass) are identical twins from New England who have been playing and writing music together for as long as they can remember, entering the Americana music scene in 2012 as part of the internationally touring grass-roots band, ‘The Lonely Heartstring Band.' 7:00 & 9:15 PM

Joe Dyson's Look Within

The New Orleans native has been one to watch. He started playing music in his family's church at age 2. After being noticed for his peculiar talent, Joe was placed in the Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp. and went on to graduate from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and earned a Presidential Scholarship to his alma mater Berklee College of Music. 6 & 9 PM, Kilbourn Hall, Club Pass or $35/door

Food and beverages are available for purchase. Park in South Ave Garage.
