Rochester, NY–June 24, 2024—The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival 21st Edition continues today with another spectacular lineup of musicians from around the world.
The first of five Jazz Workshops, led by visiting Scottish sax player Tommy Smith, starts today at the Eastman School of Music at 1:30 p.m. Sponsored by Wegmans, the workshops are free.
The free Jazz Starts at the Library series also starts today at noon at the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County.
Also tonight, on the Jazz Street Stage, are the annual Rochester International Jazz Festival (RIJF)—Eastman School of Music (ESM) Scholarship Concerts featuring current students, RIJF scholarship alums, and ESM Faculty. This year's scholarship recipient, Parker Vinyard, will be recognized. 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
The festival will continue through Saturday, June 29.

Jazz Workshops Start Today
Tommy Smith (saxophone) is one of the finest jazz musicians of his generation. He kicks off this year's series of five structured jazz workshops is open to music students of all ages and provides the exceptional opportunity to play, meet, listen to, and learn from professional jazz musicians performing at the festival. 26 Gibbs St (Eastman School of Music), Room 120 – 1st Floor, 1:00-2:30 p.m. Free!

Jazz at The Library Starts Today
Today from 12 Noon to 1 PM at the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County see Trio 55 with Jacobo Vega-Albela (Drumset), Zach Walgren (Bass), and Jordan Lerner (Saxophones). The trio met during their studies at Eastman School. Free, no tickets are required. Concerts continue through through Friday June 28. Shows are held outside weather permitting. Bring your lunch!
