End of the Month Activities

Greetings!

It is hard to belive that October is winding down and we are almost through the first marking period. The students have been actively involved and I am pleased with the level of engagement in the classes as I walk by. Thank you to all the parents for your support. We need to continue working together!
Red Ribbon Week
This week all students are encouraged to participate in Red Ribbon Week this week. This theme is to help students say no to drugs and alcohol. Each day we have a theme. On Tuesday students are encouraged to wear a team jersey, on Wednesday they are encouraged to wear sweats (not jammies!), Thursday is crazy hair day and Friday is inside out day.
Junior National Honor Society
There will be a meeting of all students inducted into the JNHS last spring. The meeting will be on Thursday 10/28 after school in the cafeteria. Miss Carroll is our advisor.
Halloween Dance
The Drug Alliance is sponsoring a Halloween Dance on Friday 10/29 in the DEOMS cafeteria from 7:00-9:00 PM. The cost is $2.00 and all students need to have a signed permission slip. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. This is not a school event and if you have any questions please contact Officer Wester.
There are some slots available for the Math Club that meets every other Tuesday. If a student is interested please see Mrs. Edelstein. The Newspaper Club meets on Thursdays and the Yearbook club will be starting soon. Art Club will be on a rotating basis and Mr. Muratore will be organizing this shortly. Please encourage your child to get involved in the many activities we have here at DEOMS.
Sincerely,
