Last week, students heard from Rivka Ravitz, chief of staff to former Israeli president Reuven Rivlin, about her experiences as a Hareidi woman and an international diplomat, including meeting presidents, kings, and a pope.

Mr. Ed Fox, former YHT Executive Director, Mr. Alan Steinberg, former YHT parent, lay leader and YHT Director of Development, and Ira Steinberg ('14), YHT alum, making sandwiches for the Chayalim in Israel.

THIS WEEK’S EVENTS


Our annual Book & Literacy Fair was a rousing success! Thank you to everyone who made the fair possible:

  • Book Fair Committee: Dana Bassali, Alex Berns, Gila Livi, and Erica Scherzer
  • Volunteers: Naomi Bassali, Randi Botek, Sally Bruhim, Shoshana Feldman, Adina Frank, Bassi Friedman, Leah Hametz, Ronit Kahen, Michaela Kalandarev, Aaron and Shira Koller, Oksana Parkhomovsky, Daniella Rafael, and Judy Yadgar 
  • Workshop presenters: Bnot Sherut Aviya, Lian, Noya, and Tehila; Morah Chaya and Ms. Lermer (reach out to buy her book!); and Gordon Korman

And thank you to all of the parents, students, administrators, and teachers who came to the fair in support of our school and to celebrate literacy!


The PTA was also a proud sponsor of “Raising Tech-Healthy Families Together” with Janell Burley Hoffman. Students in grade 4-8, parents, teachers, and administrators participated in workshops about how to navigate conversations about technology. Thank you to Dr. Feinberg and the YHT administration for prioritizing this critical topic and for bringing Janell to our school.

Get ready for yummy Pesach chocolates! Each student is bringing home a large envelope containing materials for the annual Miss Chocolate/Bartons Passover candy sale. This year's deadline for submitting orders (online or to the YHT office) is Monday, April 1st. If you will be bringing your order form to the office rather than ordering online, please be sure to fill the form out completely, indicate your prize request, and include full payment. All checks should be made out to YHT-PTA and labeled Passover Chocolate Sale.
