DCAA and DTTAG sign MOU in Dubai

After many months of meetings and discussions, an MOU has now been signed between the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and the Dubai Travel and Tour Agents Group.
The MOU is intended to ensure closer cooperation between the two parties in relation to travel business activities within Dubai that will facilitate the development of civil aviation. Both parties recognise and will build on the benefits of the travel industry to ensure the development of the civil aviation industry in Dubai , guaranteeing a strong and sustainable growth in the travel and tourism sector.
Both parties recognise the importance of education and development of leadership skills for UAE nationals to ensure a productive, well educated workforce in the tourism industry.
Areas of cooperation include the support and benchmarking of policies concerning regulation of the industry to ensure best practices are followed by holders of travel trade licenses. Provision of training for travel consultants in both focused travel and customer service skills to international standards will be pursued. The requirement for Emiratis at entry level is accepted and job opportunities at this level are to be reviewed and followed up. The provision of a consultancy service to review new trade license applications to ensure capability and ability to meet international standards will be actively promoted.
Meetings between the two bodies will be held to formalise and achieve these ends.

Emirates Holidays Joins DTTAG
DTTAG is delighted to announce that Emirates Holidays has joined our group.
" DTTAG is a pivotal organisation within the travel industry and has many synergies with Emirates Holidays. We look forward to a constructive and positive partnership with our partners through our recent membership to the Group," Marc Bennett, Emirates' Divisional Senior Vice President, Destination & Leisure Management (D&LM).

Thirsty Thursday Excitement
 Thirsty Thursday is now one of the most anticipated events in the travel trade calendar, certainly from the perspective of travel trade employees, suppliers and sponsors. The event, sponsored by Travel Daily Middle East; Gulf Reps and DTTAG, will be celebrating its 1 year anniversary in May and will feature guest sponsor Emirates Holidays. This promises to be the biggest and best event so far. Details will be available soon regarding the venue. At the last event held in the amazing JW Marriot Marquis Hotel, we had around 300 attendees which was an incredible response considering the first such event attracted only 70 guests. Thirsty Thursday aims to ensure that the travel trade have an enjoyable social networking evening whilst taking advantage of the attendance of suppliers who they would possibly only get to meet in their offices on an infrequent and less sociable basis. It also enables suppliers to get to know their customers outside the constraint of the office and give away prizes relevant to their business such as lunches/dinners/trips/flights etc., DTTAG is pleased to be a co-sponsor of the event and show the travel trade once again another advantage of belonging to Dubai's official Business Group representing the Travel and Tourism sector, a key driver in Dubai Government's development plans for the future. We again urge all travel agencies to join DTTAG in order to strengthen and support the group's aims to improve standards and customer service levels to our clients and customers.
