DSI Announces New Track for November Conference

  

Role of AI and Technology in the Classroom.



DSI is proud to introduce a new pedagogical track to the 2024 DSI Annual Conference focusing on the "Role of AI and Technology in the Classroom." This track aims to explore the rapidly evolving impact of artificial intelligence and technology on teaching and learning, particularly in preparing decision sciences leaders for the ever-changing future. As AI becomes an integral part of modern education, it is essential to delve into its implications, benefits, and challenges within the academic environment.

 

We invite submissions that cover a diverse range of topics related to the integration of AI and technology in educational settings. Sessions may include your submitted abstracts, full paper submissions, workshops and/or panel sessions. Potential session topics include, but are not limited to:

 

Current Approaches to Teaching Using AI:

·        Case studies on incorporating AI tools in the classroom.

·        Pedagogical strategies that leverage AI to enhance student learning outcomes.

·        Experiences with AI-driven tutoring systems and personalized learning environments.

 

Course Design and Curriculum Development:

·        Innovations in curriculum design influenced by AI technologies.

·        Adjustments to course structures and materials in response to AI advancements.

·        Best practices for integrating AI-related content into existing courses.

 

Empirical Research on Pedagogical Aspects of AI:

·        Studies on the effectiveness of AI in improving student engagement and performance.

·        Research on student perceptions and acceptance of AI in educational contexts.

·        Data-driven analyses of AI's impact on teaching methodologies and learning processes.

 

Innovative AI Implementation Ideas:

·        Experimental approaches to using AI in various educational scenarios.

·        Development of new AI applications tailored for educational purposes.

·        Cross-disciplinary projects that combine AI with other technological tools to enhance learning.

 

We hope to have a strong set of sessions on topics and sessions relevant to the area. We also encourage proposals for workshops and panel sessions that foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among educators, researchers, and industry professionals. These sessions can provide a platform for discussing best practices, brainstorming innovative solutions, and building networks within the academic community.

 

By contributing to this track, you will help shape the future of AI in education, ensuring that we prepare our students to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world. We look forward to your submissions and to engaging discussions at the 2024 DSI Annual Conference.

Include the DSJ Mini-Conference w/DASMALAI in Your Conference Plans


The DSJ Mini-Conference hosted by DSI at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa is a journal specific mini-conference taking place on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 1 - 8 pm – the day prior to the start of the 2024 DSI Annual Conference. This conference will focus on the healthcare industry, electronics/semiconductor industry as well as two sessions dedicated to the new DSI SIG, DASMALAI (Data Sciences, Machine Learning, and AI). Coffee breaks and an evening reception are part of the program. Plenty of time to network with like minds! Visit the DSJ Mini-Conference webpage for more details and view the program schedule.


This mini-conference requires a registration and is included as an add-on item for the 2024 Annual Conference. Or you can attend only the mini-conference. Fee is $120 for Faculty and $50 for Students. Register for the mini-conference or add this extra item to your November conference registration.

Registration for the 2024 DSI Annual Conference is OPEN.

Register by September 9 to take advantage of the early discount. Remember, you must be an active member of DSI to register for and attend this conference. If not active, join first, then come back to register.

DSI has secured room rates of $205 for single or double occupancy. Only verified attendees of the conference will receive these rates. Reservation deadline is October 30, 2024 or until our room block is sold out, whichever comes first.
