IMPORTANT PROGRAMMING ANNOUNCEMENT
Over the last few months the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte Staff, Board of Directors, and Camp Committee have been excitedly working hard to prepare for Camp Horizon this year. However, YMCA Camp Harrison, the location where we host Camp Horizon, had to shut their camp down due to a COVID outbreak this week. The safety of our campers, volunteers, staff, and community is our top priority. Given this new information and the new Delta variant being very persistent in the community, we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel camp this year. Families may choose to receive a full refund of camp fees or they may apply fees to Camp Horizon 2022.
We know so many of you look forward to this camp and the absence of the event again this year will be felt widely in our community. As always, the health and safety of our campers, families, staff and community-at-large are our top priorities and we appreciate your understanding.
We appreciate your flexibility, patience, and understanding. Our goal is to continue our commitment to serve and support all of you and we'll continue to explore new and creative ways to do so. We'll continue to monitor conditions for fall programming and will provide updates for those events as soon as we can.
