Dear Democrats,
On Saturday, Donald Trump held a “YUGE” rally in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Like many of Trump’s rallies, the crowd in attendance was largely the same group of devotees that follow him around the country. Photos of the crowd at the rally released by Trump’s campaign were likely carefully selected or Photo-shopped to NOT include the large blocks of empty seats that were reported by the local press. It’s possible that some of his supporters may be getting tired of following him from state to state to fill the seats. But what did Trump talk about during his two-hour speech?
Before the event, the campaign announced that it would be a major speech explaining Trump’s proposed economic plans, but he actually spent exactly zero-time proposing fixes to the economy. Instead, he spent some time telling the crowd that Kamala Harris’ economic plans would be bad for the country, without explaining why any one single specific item would hurt the economy and how it would hurt. Instead, without getting specific about economics (which he himself clearly doesn’t understand) he bellowed “If I don’t win, you’ll have a 1929-style depression,” That unsupported claim brought a roar of approval from his adoring cult members.
But then he veered completely away from anything even resembling economics to launch into a series of personal insults about VP Harris, claiming ““I am much better looking than her,” drawing laughs from the crowd. “I’m a better-looking person than Kamala.” He later twice again claimed to be prettier than Harris. He also mocked her laugh, saying “Have you heard her laugh? That is the laugh of a crazy person, the laugh of a lunatic.”
That’s all he’s got! Insults of his opponents. The same show that we’ve been watching, like the movie “Groundhog Day”, for the past nine years. No substance. No real plans except for embracing snippets from Project 2025. No real defense of his own pathetic record except false claims that “we were better off” during his Presidency, ignoring the 14% unemployment rate four years ago, the now infamous “Great Toilet Paper Shortage” and his completely ineffective response to Covid 19.
NOTHING! JUST AN EMPTY SUIT!
The American people deserve better. We deserve real leadership with policies that rely on facts instead of demagoguery.
