Democratic Party of Torrance County Newsletter

July 15, 2024

Good Morning Fellow Democrats:

Today’s intro is going to be short. My basic premise is that there is no room in our Democratic system of government for political violence. I want to ask solely, “What have we become as a nation?”, when we can’t have civil discourse regarding issues that affect all of us. We all need to take a step back, reflect on where we are as a people, and tone down the rhetoric. I’m as guilty of it as anyone, and I am determined to be a better person and try to be more understanding of contrary positions. My hope is that everyone can do the same, but I fear that is a pipe dream. We’ll see.

I urge everyone to give the authorities the time to investigate Saturday’s shooting; lay off the conspiracy theories; and realize that the problem is all of us, as a society, that has led us to this point. Let’s tone it down and engage in reasonable debate on issues that impact our country and her citizens.

Thank you.

Dennis
