Re: Urgent Request for Contributions to JNA’s 2022 Leadership
Development Scholarship Fund
Dear JNA Members, Friends, and Sponsors:
The Jamaican Nationals Association will award its Annual Leadership Development Scholarships, virtually, to students of Jamaican heritage attending colleges in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area and in Jamaica, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm ET. As our deadline for donations approaches, we are again reaching out to seek your support for this worthy cause.
Under the leadership of our Student Outreach and Educational Support (SOES) Program, JNA recognizes the value to our community of developing effective leadership as a life-long, learned skill. Towards this goal, JNA’s ongoing activities have harnessed the talents of numerous successful leaders of Jamaican heritage, who have shared their experiences in effective leadership with the community on topics such as communication skill development, networking, and the role volunteering can play in leadership development. In addition, JNA’s Leadership Development Scholarships assist needy and talented college students in their development as our future leaders.
We know that you, as a person of Jamaican heritage or friend of Jamaica, also recognize the importance of education and effective leadership. Accordingly, we hope you will kindly make a financial contribution towards our 2022 fundraising goal of $50,000. No contribution is too small, and all contributors will be recognized in our program book and at our website. Donations of one hundred dollars ($100) or above can be made in memory of loved ones or in recognition of persons who were significant in your educational journey.
Information on how to contribute can be accessed by clicking on this link to JNA's website. Contributions are accepted by using 1) PayPal or a credit card; 2) Zelle payment to info@jnaofdc.org; and 3) Checks made payable to Jamaican Nationals Association, P.O. Box 56453, Washington, DC 20040. Also attached to this request is our Sponsor/Donation Form which can be returned to info@jnaofdc.org, Attention: SOES Committee. As JNA is a 501©(3) tax-exempt non-profit, scholarship contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law. For tax purposes, please reference EIN #521240060.
