DTS Audits
Driver Training School audits continue throughout the year.

The Driver Training School unit has recently updated the audit process. With this new process, the auditor will request that the driver training school representative pull records for specific students. All student record cards must be present during the audit. Additionally, the auditor will not be requesting copies of driver training school materials.

If you need a copy of your local DMV Customer Service Center's skills test route, please e-mail

If you have specific questions regarding the current test route, please work with the team leader and/or supervisor at your local DMV Customer Service Center.

CDTP updates: s igning contracts
The Cooperative Driver Testing Program (CDTP) allows approved schools the ability to provide the written DMV Class D and Highway Signs test.

For many years, th e CDTP program has been managed by the Bureau of Field Services. As of September 1, this program is now be managed by the Driver Training School program. As a part of this transition, you will be required to sign a new CDTP contract.

Driver Training Schools that renewed their school license in 2017 will receive an e-mail with the updated contract (December). Driver Training Schools that will be renewing their school license in 2018 will sign the updated contract as a part of their renewal.

Moving forward, schools will be required to sign a new CDTP contract at every renewal.

Please note, the DMV knowledge test has not changed. However, if in the future you need new copies of your master tests please e-mail your request to DOTDrvrTrnSchool@dot.wi.gov
