Dear Gunnar,
Longer days are finally here and we trust that you are slowly easing into the summer rhythm. We are pleased to share with you an exciting lineup of events through these warmer months.
Last month, we were pleased to invite members to an exclusive tour of Vintersol distillery. The event included a behind-the-scenes tour of the distillery near Putney Bridge as well as a rich discovery of the history of aquavit with tastings along the way - thank you to Vintersol Distillery for inviting us! May also included another event in the YP series of Managing Uncertainty. This time, the focus was on strategies for navigating life transitions with experienced speakers sharing their reflections. Thank you to everyone who joined the webinar.
We have a busy month of events coming up. First, we invite you for an evening with Kim Rahbek at Sticks'n'Sushi White City. Kim Rahbek, who is the founder of the Sticks'n'Sushi empire, will share his best entrepreneurial advice and offer his perspectives on why Sticks'n'Sushi have sustained their success since their opening 35 years ago. Sticks'n'Sushi have put together a special menu for the evening, we hope to see many of you there.
On the 11th of June, we have a new inspiring event series launching - The Female Leadership Group - by initiative of Mie Østergaard, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, and the DKUK. This first event will be discussion focused, hosted at KöD London. The event will offer a unique platform for professional development, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, we hope to see many members there and look forward to future events in the event series.
Now to the important things - Euro Cup 2024! We are proudly partnering with Mikkeller Bar to show all 3 of the Denmark games - the most notable - Denmark Vs England on 20th June, we very much look forward to seeing you and cheering on our teams! Also, we are looking forward to this months' Nordic Drinks will take place at St Ermin's Hotel on the 27th of June.
On a final note, make sure you don't miss one of The Association's most prestigious social gatherings of the year - the Summer Reception taking place on 5th July (the first event at the Palace of Westminster following the General Election – how exciting is that?) on the impressive terrace at the House of Lords. We promise you summer drinks, canapes, and great company. What more could you want for a perfect summer evening!
Then from the office we would like to salute and thank Sia. A very active Young Professional member, she as many of you will know, have also been a Student Helper in the DKUK secretariat. She is now moving on having ended her studies, to start full time work. We thank her very much for all her help, but this is not a good bye, as she will remain a member, and we suspect still active and engaging in the membership. She will be succeeded by Zach and please welcome him warmly to this community. Also a YP member, he will be the 2nd Student Helper who together with Sarah will help all members with newsletter, events and more.
We wish you all a lovely month and look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!
Kind regards,
DKUK Team
Deanne, Katrina, Sarah, Sia, Zach & Gunnar
