Message from the Principal

Dear DHS staff, students, and families,

In the wake of Tuesday night’s storm, we could all use a boost of positivity and energy. Thankfully, today’s free back-to-school BBQ, hosted by our incredible student council, was just what we needed. A huge shout-out to our amazing student council members and sponsors who organized and served the delicious food throughout all lunch periods! And a big thank you to our dedicated staff who tended the grills, cooking up hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers for everyone.

After a nice, long weekend, we'll be back at it next week with our annual Open House for parents/guardians on Wednesday, September 4. If your student has an Early Bird (EB) class (excluding EB Science) your evening will begin at 6:30 p.m., while all others will start at 6:45 p.m. Here is a link to the schedule for the evening.

As a reminder, there is limited parking for Open House. As such, we encourage parents and guardians to choose the District 113 provided bus service. Your participation as a bus rider will help eliminate parking problems. A majority of our parents and guardians select this as their method of transportation. This will be the same bus route that our students take each school day. A special bus schedule for the evening will be available on the District 113 transportation webpage.

For those parents/guardians who are not able to use the bus service, we respectfully request that you carpool with friends or neighbors due to the limited parking. Alternatively, if your student is of driving age, reverse roles and have them serve as a chauffeur. If you plan to drive and arrive after 6:10 p.m. it may be challenging to find parking. As such, overflow parking will be available at Bannockburn Plaza (2101 Waukegan Rd.). A shuttle will be provided to transport parents/guardians to and from DHS.

See you next Wednesday!!

Sincerely,

Principal Anderson

Fall Athletics - Spectator Expectations

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Warrior Athletics season! We are thrilled to embark on another exciting year of sports, camaraderie, and growth at Deerfield High School. With contests and practices already underway, the energy and enthusiasm are palpable, and we can’t wait to see our teams in action.

Our community prides itself on sportsmanship and respect. As spectators at our athletic events, we kindly ask that everyone supports our teams by cheering positively and encouraging our athletes. Please avoid negative comments towards officials, coaches, or players—on either side. Let’s root for our team, not against theirs, and create a positive and uplifting environment for all.
