Message from the Principal

Dear DHS staff, students, and families,

This week, in homeroom, students have been providing feedback on several bell schedule concepts for a district-wide common bell schedule for the 25-26 school year. Student feedback will be utilized to further develop options to be proposed to the BOE at the end of May. Final decisions about a common bell schedule will not be made until December 2024 according to the current timeline.

Please pay special attention to next week's schedule (below) which is impacted by the solar eclipse viewing and state-required PSAT/SAT testing. In terms of the cycle 100 day, this is an 8 period day that starts at 8:10 a.m. As for testing, sophomores and juniors test on Wednesday, while freshmen test on Thursday. There are no classes on Wednesday and Thursday due to testing. We do ask students to take these tests seriously as the results are another data point that help us to assess our practices and supports for all students.

Wishing our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors all the best for their tests next week!

Sincerely,

Principal Kathryn Anderson
