May 2024 marked the return of the annual DHM Faculty Retreat held on May 7 at the UCSF Aldea Center. The theme was "Finding Purpose in Hospital Medicine" — and was an opportunity to connect, foster community, and engage in discussions around key topic areas to support ourselves and the division. Thank you to all who attended!

DHM Social Activities

We held a meet up on May 3 with Adrienne Green at the SF Campus for Jewish Living. Co-sponsored by the DHM Women's Council and the Community Building Committee, there was great attendance and a lot of fun and learning about leadership of a SNF. Attendees engaged in a robust Q&A with Adrienne, met many staff at the Jewish Home, and took a fascinating tour of this facility where we send many of our patients!

Equity & Belonging in Hospital Medicine

Volunteer Together as DHM with GLIDE

Over the past two years, DHM has been partnering with GLIDE's Center for Social Justice to brainstorm and pilot ways to improve health and equity for the communities we serve, as well as uplift wellness for our DHM and UCSF colleagues. One outcome of this partnership has been a discussion around volunteering at GLIDE as DHM. Please join us as we begin our community practice of serving lunch with GLIDE's Daily Free Meals Program with fellow DHM'ers! Volunteers assist with everything from serving food and bussing tables, to handing out silverware and condiments. There are still some slots left for each lunchtime shift in the Tenderloin, and each shift has a "Captain" ready and excited to volunteer with you! Family and friends are also welcome to join in and volunteer together ❤️

Available volunteer slots

Thursday, June 13th 11:30am-1:30pm with Lunchtime Captain Rosemary

Wednesday, June 26th 11:30am-1:30pm with Lunchtime Captain Natalie
