DEM Awards, Publications, and News

Tim Henrich was elected to the prestigious American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), in recognition of his outstanding scientific and academic accomplishments.


He was also appointed to the AIDS Research Advisory Committee to advise the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) on research priorities in HIV/AIDS.


He was also quoted several times in The New York Times for an article titled,"How Viral Infections Cause Long-Term Health Problems".


Lastly, Tim gave a great talk titled "Changing Paradigm: Viral Persistence and Post-Viral Syndromes - Lessons learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic" at the last ZSFG Medicine Grand Rounds. The recording will be available here via MyAccess (not uploaded yet as of 01/19/24).

Paul Ogongo was selected as a winner by the Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (TBVI) for the TBVI Young Scientist Award 2023-2024. This award encourages talented young scientists and recognises their outstanding contributions to TB vaccine research and development.

Weihao Zheng was awarded a RAP Award for his project titled "Epitranscriptomic regulation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection in macrophages".

Mikias Ilala was awarded an ImmunoDiverse PROPEL URM Award. Congrats!

Zach Howard has been chosen to receive a Keystone Symposia Future of Science Fund scholarship for the upcoming meeting on Tuberculosis: The Host-Pathogen Interface.

Sadie Munter, former Henrich lab member contributed to a piece in the LA Times titled, "Opinion: The open-air camps outside San Diego are a healthcare crisis for migrants".
