Idaho Students Star in PSAs in New Anti-Vaping Campaign

Have you seen our newest anti-vape PSAs featuring Idaho students?

In our continued efforts to create anti-vaping education and resources for students, parents, and educators, in partnership with Idaho's Health Districts and with funding from the Idaho Millennium Fund, 2024 we are hosting another student video contest, expanded social media campaigns, new educational resources for teachers and parents, and a three-part professional development series for teachers that begins in January.

Educators

Potlatch Teacher and Early Learning Champion at NAEYC

In November, we sent Potlatch Teacher Molly Clark, named a 2023-2024 PBS KIDS Early Learning Champion, to Nashville, Tennessee, for the National Association for the Education of Young Children Conference. She was one of three educators who received an award for Impactful Family Engagement from PBS KIDS Education. Congratulations, Molly!

Paid Opportunities for Classroom Teachers

PBS affiliate GBH Education regularly recruits teachers to support the development of high-quality resources for the classroom, such as the U.S. History Collection, and collaborations with FRONTLINE, AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, and NOVA. Projects include piloting new resources, co-designing new resources, and more.

Communities

Donate Storytime in a Box to an Idaho Library

Looking for ways to help in your local community? Consider donating a Storytime in a Box to a library in Idaho.

Storytime in a Box is an innovative program designed to support Idaho libraries with family storytime. The FREE program is funded entirely by donations to Idaho Public Television.

We select approximately 25 libraries per year to participate. Each month for about four months, we curate boxes of storytime goodies—about $50 worth materials including three children’s books, manipulatives and games, art supplies and sometimes a puppet—and send them to participating libraries.

We select materials that facilitate parent and caregiver participation with the child during storytime, and we include an at-home activity.

We provide librarians with a booklet containing themed monthly program plans, book lists, song lists, visual agenda cards, and planning and evaluation forms. We also host a library cohort so librarians can share ideas and storytime best practices with one another.
