July 2024
Agency Newsletter

Hello!

As we prepare for the fiscal new year ahead, we have some exciting news to share with you!

You will notice on our website, we have a new look. We wanted to update our current website where it is easier to navigate and find information about our agency and services.

DEAF, Inc. Executive Director, Darian Gambrell wears a dark purple shirt and black glasses signing the following sentence on a white backdrop behind her, "You will notice on our website, we have a new look!"

We hope you will enjoy using our website and sharing with your network. We thank Ta-Da Studios, a Deaf-owned business, for making this possible.

The other news I wanted to share with all of you is that starting in July our ASL program will offer 1/1 tutoring sessions for those who are interested in receiving tutoring on specific topics. This is a great opportunity for interpreters, families, students, coworkers and more to take advantage of a 30 minute to 1 hour session to improve your skills.

I also want to take the time to thank you for coming to the Goal Getters 5k Walk/Run event. We had such a wonderful time learning how to be healthier and meeting new people. The weather was gorgeous so that was a special treat for us! Thanks again for showing up and spending the morning with us!

As always, thank you for keeping DEAF, Inc. in your heart.

Darian's Surprise Visit to Horace Mann

A group of seven people standing together and smiling. The background features a blue curtain and a large screen. The group includes individuals of varying ages and appearances. In the front row, there are four people: two young men, Darian wearing a pink top, and a young girl in a green shirt. In the back row, there are three people: a man in a white shirt, a woman in glasses and a hoodie, and another young man in a yellow shirt. Everyone appears to be in a joyful and cheerful mood.

On June 4, our Executive Director, Darian Gambrell, visited Horace Mann School for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing to celebrate the high school seniors’ graduation. Darian shared life advice and available resources, including services DEAF, Inc. can provide to support their journey after high school, as the graduating seniors shared their future plans with her.

As a parting gift, they received DEAF, Inc. phone stands, which act as a continuing visual reminder that DEAF, Inc. will always be there to support them.

Congratulations Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Class of 2024!
