Academic Hybrid Fridays

Full-Day Students Only

During Academic Hybrid Fridays, all DACC academic students will be expected to complete online assignments in lieu of attending academic classes on Fridays. This academic model emphasizes 21st-century workplace skills, empowers students to utilize technology, improves independence, and provides more opportunities to participate in work-based learning.

Communication was emailed home to families yesterday (8/25). A copy of that email can be accessed here as well as a comprehensive FAQ about the program.

Summer Community Service

Returning students were required to complete a Community Service Project in order to account for attendance on August 16th. The guidelines are listed below.

The Summer Community Service Form needed to be turned in to their lab instructor when they returned on August 17th. If they have not already done so, it should be submitted before 9/1, or they will be marked absent for 8/16.

  • Community Service/volunteer work must be unpaid.
  • The organization/recipient of Community Service cannot be a relative.
  • Half-day DACC Students must complete 3 hours of Community Service.
  • Full-day DACC Students must complete 6 hours of Community Service.
  • Community Service Work / Hours can be completed anytime between May 27th and August 16th.
  • Community Service work does NOT need to be related to the student’s DACC Lab.
  • Students have been given access to a list of available opportunities but are also encouraged to seek out their own community service projects.
