Register now for up to two free trees
For the second year, the City of Dunwoody is partnering with Trees Atlanta to plant up to 80 shade trees in front yards across Dunwoody. Registration is open. Trees will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Trees Atlanta manages the processing of tree requests and coordinates with each homeowner for the selection, placement, and installation of up to two front yard trees per yard through this program. Planting for 2023 will begin in October and continue through March 2024.

Support local students with Back-to-School supplies
Help the Dunwoody Police Department pack a patrol car by donating school supplies through Aug. 11. All supplies will be donated to Dunwoody students in DeKalb County schools.
Bring your items to the Dunwoody Police Department at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. (M - F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) or to National Night Out on Aug. 3 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Brook Run Park.

Join members of the Dunwoody Police Department for National Night Out 2023. This year's event will be held during Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays on Aug. 3 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Brook Run Park.
Grab a bite, then stop by to talk to members of the department, citizen volunteers, and other public safety professionals in an informal setting.

Crews are making more progress on the 2023 Paving Plan. They finished work in Renfroe Lakes during the week of July 10 and moved to the Kingsley subdivision. Work on the following streets will wrap up this week: Delverton Court, Delverton Drive, Redcliff Court, Redcliff Way, and Leisure Lake Drive. The next planned work is for designated streets off Happy Hollow Road. Weather permitting, crews will start on William Court, with Chestnut Forest Court, Chestnut Forest Lane, Wood Hollow Drive, and Fountainbleau Drive to follow. At this point, the contractor has completed approximately 50 percent of the planned project. Learn more.

Final week for input: Happy Hollow Road project
Dunwoody Public Works proposes pedestrian and bicycle improvements on Happy Hollow Road between Peeler Road and the city limit at Dunwoody Club Drive including a six-foot sidewalk on the west side of Happy Hollow and four-foot bicycle lanes in both directions.

ARC seeks input from Dunwoody residents to help shape metro Atlanta’s future
What are best long-term solutions to our traffic challenges? The Atlanta Regional Commission is gathering input for a major update to the region’s Metropolitan Transportation Plan.
What’s at Stake:
The plan will allocate about $173 billion in federal, state, and local funding through 2050 for transportation projects throughout DeKalb County and the Atlanta region. These dollars will fund projects to ease traffic congestion, provide new transit and bike-ped options, improve safety, and provide commute alternatives.
The survey will help ARC prioritize how these funds are spent. IMake sure your voice is heard and that Dunwoody is represented at the regional table!

Parks & Rec Month movie night at Brook Run Park: Saturday, July 29
Enjoy B98.5′s B at the Movies: Free Family Movies in the Park, presented by Mayfield Ice Cream. Bring the family, your blanket or beach chair and relax under the stars to enjoy The Super Mario Bros. Art for little ones
Spruill Center for the Arts presents Mini-Masters, a fun and engaging preschool-style art class for budding artists ages 2 to 5, along with a parent or caregiver. Teaching artist Megan Reeves Williamson has crafted four weeks of fun, including singing songs, listening to music and stories, and learning about artists while exploring a variety of art materials and techniques. This class runs from Aug. 23 to Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

AMPLIFY deadline: July 28
One more week for muralists to submit entries for the 4th Annual AMPLIFY mural project at Spruill Gallery.
The AMPLIFY project elevates a sense of community, connects people through art, and promotes working artists in Georgia and beyond. The muralist whose proposal is selected will install their design on the historic “Smoke House” at the Spruill Gallery grounds on a landmark corner in the bustling Perimeter Business District. The winning mural will be revealed on Oct. 14 during Spirits for Spruill at the Spruill Gallery.

Celebrating 50 years!
Mark your calendars for the Dunwoody Woman's Club 50th annual Home Tour be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
New this year is a raffle for a chance to win one of three prizes: an original painting by local artist, Pat Fiorello; a $500 shopping spree at Lauderhills Fine Jewelry; Dine Around Dunwoody (assorted gift cards). Each prize is worth at least $500.
