The Dunwoody City Council is considering an increase to the city’s General Fund millage rate, matching the cap instituted by the city’s founders of 3.040 mills. This would result in an increase of $33 to $69 a year for a typical Dunwoody home.

Dunwoody's Perimeter Center: Edge City 2.0 Update Monday night
Dunwoody's Edge City 2.0 study indicates that the two-square mile node around Hammond Drive and Perimeter Center Parkway has the metro area's highest educational attainment, the largest daytime employment, the third-highest average household income, the second-highest median home value, and the second highest per capita consumer spending. More, MARTA accessibility, existing hotel and retail space, and other economic factors point to significant long-term growth potential. The Edge City 2.0 study seeks to find what community members, residents and stakeholders want to see over the next 20 years.
A presentation update of the project is scheduled Monday, June 13 at 5 p.m. at a Special-Called meeting at Dunwoody City Hall.

A new look for Dunwoody's Veterans Memorial | |
|
Dunwoody's Parks and Recreation introduced a concept for the revitalization of the Dunwoody Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park. Included in the rendering is the removal of the roof and glass to create a more engaging and approachable memorial. The existing brick columns will be clad in granite. Overhead, a steel ring encircles the columns with extended arms representing a salute. The monuments representing the six branches of the U.S. Military will remain and the engraved ceremonial bricks will be relocated to the walkway approaching the memorial. Spotlights will illuminate the memorial at night to enhance its sense of place and importance. Learn more

Currently in the utility relocation phase, intersection improvements at Chamblee Dunwoody Road at Womack Road include adding a left-turn lane on Womack Road and removing the no-right-turn restriction by improving sight distance on Chamblee Dunwoody. Pedestrian improvements and road drainage improvements are also included. As part of Dunwoody's no-net-loss of trees policy, any trees removed as part of this or any other city project will be replaced with the same number of native trees on city property.

The remaining utility work includes Georgia Power and Comcast relocation of overhead lines south of Old Spring House Lane. Join the Mosquito Control Force!

|
Mosquitoes are pesky bloodsuckers, but we can safely take control and enjoy our summer with a 7-step defense:
1. Clear breeding zones (gutters, cans) and English ivy
2. Kill larvae by dumping standing water
3. Reduce pond algae (mosquito food) with water plants
4. Apply mosquito repellent and citronella yard incense sticks. Strong fans, preferably oscillating, can also help
5. Maintain your window and door screen defenses
6. Host a predator in a swallow/bat house
7. Enlist your neighbors in this fight
