Join us for another fabulous reunion with crew and passengers on the Legendary Delta Queen. For four days we'll hear the tintillating music of ragtime and banjos, enjoy music in the Texas Lounge each afternoon, a show each evening, and even a cruise on the Tennessee River! Captain Mike Williams will lead behind the scenes tours of the vessel as we listen to those captivating and never before heard stories of times on the rivers. See the sun rise and set on the river, take a morning stroll on the Sun Deck, and share your memories with friends from the good ol' days of steamboatin'. You can even request your favorite cabin and we'll accommodate you-unless another passenger had the same idea first!
Cruise directors and musicians - Jazzou Jones, Bob Schad, Banjo Bob, and Tony Martin will be onboard with shows and musical reveries - including our Patriotic sing-a-long on Veteran's Day.
Our own Red Hot Mama, Phyllis Dale will appear in the Texas Lounge bringing back those traditions we so well remember her for!
Hotel Manager, Lloyd Camel and Executive Chef Joyce Ballard will be onboard to ensure our dining pleasure, recreating our favorites - including the Picnic Lunch!
Enjoy appearances by former crew members who will surprise us during the event.
Don't miss this "spirit of steamboatin'" event and bring your friends and family! You'll be glad you came. |

The Great Locomotive Chase - A Civil War Sesquicentennial Event
April 18 - 24, 2012
Featuring Steamboats and Steam Trains Featured historians: James Ogden III and Harper Harris | |

|
The Great Locomotive Chase, or Andrews Raid is one of the great railroad stories of all times and has been called the most exciting escapade of the Civil War. The men who participated in this event were the first to be awarded the Medal of Honor. We'll visit the General in Kennesaw, GA and follow it's route to Chattanooga where we'll stay aboard the Delta Queen. Aboard the Delta Queen will be former cruise directors and musicians, Jazzou Jones and Bob Schad. Here we will enjoy the familiar riverboat shows in the evenings and afternoon music along with other familiar activities. Choose the entire Civil War package or join us for another reunion on the Delta Queen (4 days) with a Civil War focus.
We begin in Kennesaw where we will tour the Southern Museum with historian Harper Harris who is our resident expert on railroads during the Civil War and the General, in particular. Our highlights will be visits to the Cyclorama, the Civil War Museum where we will see the Texas, the Kennesaw House and stops along the route to Chattanooga where the Raiders left their mark.
Enjoy a cruise on the Tennessee River, a ride on the steam train on Missionary Ridge. commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Chickamauga, visit the National Cemetery, and enjoy discussions with our historians, riverboat entertainment and a special Civil War musical tribute with Bobby Horton. |
