PORT OF LOS ANGELES COMPLETES

$73 MILLION ON-DOCK RAIL EXPANSION PROJECT ON PIER 400

The Port of Los Angeles has completed construction of a major rail expansion project on Pier 400 that will improve cargo flow, reduce emissions and improve roadway safety at the nation’s busiest port.

SEROKA REVIEWS STRONG JUNE VOLUME, WALKS THROUGH MARKET TRENDS WITH FOOTWEAR DISTRIBUTORS AND RETAILERS OF AMERICA'S CEO AND PRESIDENT

The Port of Los Angeles processed a healthy 827,757 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in June, a 10% increase over the previous month and less than 1% compared to last June, which was the Port’s best month in 2023. Six months into 2024, the Port of Los Angeles is 14% ahead of the previous year.

PORT OPTIMIZER TECHNOLOGY

The Port of Los Angeles’ Port Optimizer™ technology data portal will receive a series of major enhancements, thanks to an $8 million grant from the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). The award was the largest of five GO-Biz grants totaling $27 million to improve data and supply chain functionality across California’s port network.

SAN PEDRO BAY PORTS TO PROVIDE JULY 30 QUARTERLY PROGRESS UPDATE ON

CLEAN AIR ACTION PLAN

The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles will give a progress update on the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 30. The meeting will include updates on green shipping corridors, the ports’ Clean Truck Programs, and feasibility assessments for cargo handling equipment and drayage trucks.

COUNCILMAN MCOSKER, PORT OF LA SUPPORT SHORTEST SCHEDULE FOR BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION CLOSURE

Both the Port of Los Angeles and LA Councilmember Tim McOsker strongly pushed for the shortest possible time frame — a single-stage construction schedule — to replace the road bed on the Vincent Thomas Bridge in letters sent to Caltrans on Monday, July 15.

NEW PRINCESS CRUISES SHIP TO BOOST ALASKA FLEET FOR 2026

Princess Cruises is set to bolster its Alaska offerings in 2026 with the addition of what will be the line’s newest ship, Star Princess, sailing the Great Land from Seattle.

The longer itineraries include a 20-day Ultimate Alaska Solstice journey on Ruby Princess roundtrip from San Francisco and a 16-day Inside Passage Cruise on Emerald Princess from the Port of LA's LA Waterfront.
