LOS ANGELES HARBOR COMMISSION GREENLIGHTS $52 MILLION ON-DOCK RAIL PROJECT AT FENIX MARINE TERMINAL
The Los Angeles Harbor Commission has approved a lease amendment that finalizes plans for a $52 million infrastructure improvement project to significantly improve the on-dock rail capacity and reduce overall emissions at the Port of Los Angeles Pier 300 terminal operated by Fenix Marine Services. Construction is expected to begin next year.

In the 15th year of what has become a waterfront Labor Day tradition, throngs of enthusiastic runners and walkers took o over the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Monday morning, Sept. 2. The annual Conquer the Bridge challenge sees runners and walkers traverse a 5.3-mile course between San Pedro and Terminal Island — including across the port town’s iconic span.

ERICA M. CALHOUN AS DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF HARBOR ADMINISTRATION
The Port of Los Angeles has appointed Erica M. Calhoun as its Deputy Executive Director overseeing the City of Los Angeles Harbor Department’s Administrative Bureau. In this new position, Calhoun will be responsible for the planning, direction and management of several key divisions at North America’s leading trade gateway and busiest container port in the Western Hemisphere. Calhoun has served as Interim Deputy Executive Director of Harbor Administration since May 2024.
