The majestic Italian Navy tall ship Amerigo Vespucci will visit the Port of Los Angeles' LA Waterfront for six consecutive days starting Wednesday, July 3. Free tours are available and adjacent to the ship will be an expansive “Villaggio Italia,” an Italian village featuring cultural food, music, art and activities. | CABRILLO BEACH BOOSTERS, PORT OF LA HOST JULY 6 FREE DRONE LIGHT SHOW | In its 74th year, the Cabrillo Beach Boosters' John Olguin Fireworks Spectacular encountered an unexpected challenge and will not take place on July 4 this year, as planned. In lieu of the traditional fireworks show, the Cabrillo Beach Boosters, a non-profit organization, with the support of the Port of LA and other sponsors, will host the John Olguin Drone Light Show on Saturday, July 6 at 9:30 p.m. over Cabrillo Beach. This fireworks-alternative light show is people, pet and environmentally friendly, in honor of the late John Olguin's legacy. PORT SOLICITS PROPOSALS TO DEVELOP AND OPERATE CRUISE TERMINALS AS PART OF CONNECTIVITY PLAN
| In another significant step in the enhancement of the LA Waterfront, the Port of Los Angeles has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the construction and operation of a new Outer Harbor Cruise Terminal, and the redevelopment and operation of the existing World Cruise Center. TEMPORARY CLOSURES AND ROADWORK CONTINUE ON SR 47 INTERCHANGE

The Port of Los Angeles and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continue to work on a $130 million transportation project to reconfigure a major interchange at State Route 47/Vincent Thomas Bridge and Front Street/Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro.
The reconfiguration will replace an existing southbound SR 47 off-ramp from the Vincent Thomas Bridge, currently located on the south side, with a new off-ramp on the north side. Additional improvements include realigning the existing on-ramp to northbound I-110 connector; modifying the northbound SR 47 off-ramp onto Harbor Boulevard; and modifying the northbound SR 47 on-ramp onto the bridge toward Terminal Island.

CRAFTED AT THE PORT OF LA TO HOST 'COACHELLA OF CRAFT FESTIVALS'
JULY 26 - 28
| From July 26 - 28, CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles will host their annual "Craftyfest" event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. A large-scale permanent handmade marketplace located in a classic World War II era waterside warehouse, CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles is home to hundreds of individual artists, makers, small businesses, and artisanal food makers. Each year, during the annual Craftyfest, the in-house artists and store owners host hands-on crafts, classes, workshops, demonstrations, and more. In addition, Craftyfest visitors will enjoy activities and events including Henna tattoos, face painting, performances, craft cocktails, and food trucks. Craftyfest welcomes creative shoppers and eventgoers of all ages. | POINT FERMIN LIGHTHOUSE CELEBRATES 150th ANNIVERSARY AUGUST 17 | On Saturday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Point Fermin Lighthouse will celebrate its 150th Anniversary with a “Legacy of Light” event, hosted by the Point Fermin Lighthouse Society and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. The public is welcome to attend and help celebrate the commissioning of the Point Fermin Light in 1874. Along with a slice of birthday cake, guests will enjoy historical exhibits and reenactments, tours, children's activities, a parade with the San Pedro High School Band, and the opening of a time capsule.

On Saturday, July 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is hosting a beach cleanup event to clear the shore of marine debris. Interested participants should plan to meet at the front steps of the aquarium at 9:00 a.m. on July 6 for a brief cleanup talk before heading to the beach.
