HELP US SPRING CLEAN OUR
DROP-IN CENTER
|
Now that we are more organized, (thanks to last months volunteers) it is time to SPRING CLEAN.
The Drop-In Center provides a safe space for approximately 40 young people, every night, after school, Monday through Friday. There are also groups that utilize the space each evening, such as our LGBTQ group,
PrideZone, our substance use group, the
Engagement Program, our Career Panel and so much more. That's a lot of people through our small house. We need help to clean all the details we don't get to during the winter.
We'll provide the supplies, you provide the time! Sign up below. Volunteer date is April 23rd (one day after earth day) from 12-3pm.
|
Ozone House can use your help on EARTH DAY, April 22 from 3-5pm, to help us clean our transitional living house yard and get it ready for Spring!
We are looking for a group of 4 or 4 individuals to rake and bag leaves, trim hedges and turnover the soil in the vegetable garden.
We will provide the rakes and yard bags. You provide the team and any other tools you may need, to include yard gloves or weeding tools.
If you would like to donate some vegetable plants to start our garden, please contact
Heidi.

As graduation season approaches, we want to celebrate the
65 seniors
engaged with the Education Project (EP), that are graduating in 2019.
We want to show these resilient young people our love and support by providing each one with a graduation gift. We could use some extra help in getting these gifts together.
The Education Project, supports students experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Washtenaw County. EP works year-round to provide school supplies, basic necessities such as toiletries, socks and underwear, advocacy, crisis intervention, resource linkages and empathy to the 1,100+ youth and families we serve.
The link below connects you directly to hands-on volunteer opportunities in April/May. Available hours are weekdays. If you are interested in volunteering as a
group
, please contact Jessica at

We realize that we have very limited
volunteer opportunities. This is because we house and support youth in crisis, and we take protecting their confidentiality and their safety very seriously. That said, we always love to work with our community! Here are some
other ideas of how you can help Ozone House:
|
|
A FEW OTHER
IDEAS
TO HELP OZONE HOUSE
|
|
- Host an event, any kind of event, and have proceeds donated to Ozone House. See ideas here.
- Collect aluminum cans and recycle. Funds donated to Ozone House or purchase Meijer, Walmart, Kroger or Visa gift cards in $25 denominations. This can be done alone or with a group.
- Do a coin drive at your office, school, other organization. Funds can be donated to Ozone House or purchase full-fare The Ride bus tokens.
- Start planning a school supply drive for the summer months. We pack 800 backpacks in August. (volunteer opportunities will be available)
- Donate art supplies like canvas's, paint and brushes that we use for creative expression. We use a lot of canvas's!
- Host an event, just for fun, to create awareness around the issue of youth homelessness.
- Other creative ideas are encouraged.
While these are not hands-on volunteering opportunities,
this is what we NEED. All proceeds support our life-saving programs for youth in our community.
