Curley Family Weekly Bulletin

Week of April 29-May 5, 2024

See below to find out what is happening at Curley!

From the President

It doesn’t take too much observing to realize that a branch broken off a plant will soon wither.  It is a great image that Jesus uses, and that we hear in this Sunday’s Gospel (John 15:1-8).  In one excerpt from the larger passage Jesus says: “I am the vine, you are the branches.  Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.”  It’s one of those passages where the homilist can almost say “today’s Gospel passage is self-explanatory.”  It’s also comforting to know that should we ever become separated, we can be re-grafted to the vine.  The story of salvation is always one of healing, renewal and new life.

From the Principal

This week that carries us from April into May reminds us that the school year will quickly come to an end. May is full of many exciting events including concerts and the art show, athletic playoffs, proms, and the commencement exercises. We look forward to experiencing these with our students and their families. It is an exciting time of year!

It is important that our Curley Men do not get distracted from their academic goals. We will continue to remind them to finish strong, to use their time well, to complete assignments, and to meet with their teachers when they are in need.

From the Assistant Principal of Academics

It is hard to believe that we are a month away from commencement. In between now and then we have A.P. Exams and Senior Final Exams. Go HERE for the A.P. Exam schedule and go HERE for the Senior Final Exam schedule.

Underclassmen are at the midpoint of the Fourth Quarter. Please remind your son(s) to check Plus Portals on a regular basis and to see their teacher(s) if they have questions. I also encourage them to see their teachers for extra support and help if they are struggling in any of their courses. My door is always open if they ever need anything.
