Another ISU dean's portrait has been unveiled! Artist Rose Frantzen painted the portrait of Dr. Sam Easterling, dean of the College of Engineering. The portrait was unveiled last month at a reception in the Brunnier Art Museum. The above photo shows the portrait, Dr. Easterling, Frantzen, and the College of Engineering Advisory Board.
Iowa State has long cultivated a portraiture tradition dating back to the 1930s. Colleges honor deans or department chairs with formal portraits. These portraits secure the visual historical record while commemorating the significant milestones of the college and its people.
