We are participating in the downtown Crystal Lake Halloween Handout on Halloween, (Tu, Oct 31), 3-5 pm.


Stop by the Crystal Lake Park District Administration Building at 1 E. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.


A favorite among young children! Participating merchants throughout Downtown Crystal Lake open their doors to invite costumed children 12 and under to receive a treat. Other participating businesses will have an orange "Halloween Handout" Pumpkin Flyer on their window.

Opportunities for Seniors at Grand Oaks

Seniors! Join us the first Tuesday of each month* to walk indoors around the perimeter of Grand Oaks Auditorium, 1401 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake. Free, just drop-in 1-2 pm to walk and socialize.

Letters to Santa is a holiday gift to the community’s children! For over 30 years, the Crystal Lake Park District has been helping Santa write letters to all his fans! Send us your child’s letter by Friday, December 8, plus include a stamped, self-addressed envelope and we will send you a reply a few days before Christmas. Letters may be mailed or dropped off at Santa’s special mailbox inside the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, One East Crystal Lake. Firewood is a mixture of hardwoods. You load and haul.

Reserve Firewood

Don't throw them out; recycle them. From December 1-January 15, the Crystal Lake Park District will offer free holiday light recycling. Just head to the Parks Services Garage, 305 Lakeshore Dr, Crystal Lake and drop into the bin near the dumpsters.
