As you know we have been on many cruises. Besides using a professional to book the Cruise for us we have some suggestions for making it a better experience - photographically and personally.
1. Choose the Camera to take with you. There is no need to take every piece of equipment you own. Choose one camera and two lenses if the camera has interchangeable lenses.
Choose a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens or one lens if you have something like a 14- 140mm. That will give you both wide angle and short telephoto. If you have a point and shoot with a good zoom. You are all set. Be sure to bring extra batteries, SD cards and chargers.
2. Carry your camera with you. Don't pack your camera in your checked luggage, as you may want to take photos while you are boarding or waiting for the checked luggage to be delivered to your stateroom. 3. Things to take photos of On Board.. There are so many things to take photos of while on the ship. The architecture of the ship can be quite interesting. Photographs of the port or sail-away. Food. Shows.
4. Photos In Port...While in port there are all kinds of things to photograph. Displays in stores. Places you visit on tours. The ship. The people. The culture.
5.
The people you travel with. Don't forget to take photos of the people you are traveling with. You are sharing this travel with them and should record it.
6.Be Friendly. Make new friends on the cruise. There are a lot of nice people out there and you can make some really neat friends while traveling. Maybe you are at a table with strangers, don't let it stay that way. You need to reach out, others will reach back.
7. When shopping look for deals. Foreign ports often have great deals. Things that are cheaper than at home..Know what you are shopping for and know the prices at home so you will know when a "deal" is good. It is alright to bargain for an item. In some places it is expected.
We are sure there are many more tips we could have included, but we thought these were some of the important ones. So... Have a great time cruisin' and be sure to tell us all about it.
