Stewardship Week Two

We will be journeying through this year’s Stewardship Campaign, Sustaining, Building, and Strengthening, throughout the month of November. Be sure to tune into our livestream worship service every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for each installment of our stewardship series.

SPARK Lesson: "The Ten Bridesmaids" |
This Sunday, during the Children’s Message, Jenni Payne will talk about the gospel story for the day from Matthew 25: 1-13, the same story that you will be reading for your SPARK lesson for this Sunday! We will be learning from Jesus through a story about a wedding. Jesus shows us exactly how to get ready for God by lighting a lamp in the darkness.
The world can be pretty scary, especially this year, and it can seem like darkness is everywhere. When we light a candle or turn on a light, we can remember that God is never swallowed up by the darkness and will always be the light for us!
It's Time to Pick Up Your November SPARK Bags!
If you haven’t done so already, please stop by the church next week between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to pick up your SPARK bag(s)! Once you arrive at the North doors (off of the parking lot), give the office a call and tell us how many bags you need (one bag for each SPARK student) and a staff member will bring them out to you. Feel free to let Pastor Laura know if you have any questions.

Hi Nursery Buddies and Parents:
Up next we are going to look at being a good steward. What does being a good steward mean? A good steward is someone who is doing the best he or she can with the things that God has given them. The meaning involves how we use and care for the precious gifts that God has given to all.
Read: Luke 15:11-20, The Parable of the Lost Son
Memory Verse: 1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Questions:
- What types of things are we to be good stewards of? (Toys, house, clothes, etc.)
- Does being a good steward only apply to material possessions? (No)
- What else can it apply to? (Relationships, our talents, etc.)
Blessings of Obedience: Luke 15:20, “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”
Consequences of Sin: Luke 15:21, “'The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.‟'
Challenge: Be faithful to take care of your home today.
Activity: Make a list of things that God has blessed your family with. Make 2 columns: Worldly & Eternal. Discuss which list is more important to us.

Whoohoo! It’s Stewardship Season! There’s a cheer you’ve never heard before! But stick with me for a minute, maybe this has some merit.
If we do Stewardship right, it’s about our priorities and resources, where we put our money, how we spend our time, and what we hope to accomplish. Notice the collective “we.” This is a chance for the Crown of Glory community to evaluate our past year, and to prepare the way to where God is leading us in 2021. And we all have a role to play.
So our music each week will reflect those ideals and aspirations, and help us respond in thoughtful and prayerful ways. On Sunday, we’ll sing a remarkably familiar song for us, but one that expresses our Stewardship goals very well.
Let us build a house where love can dwell, and all can safely live.
A place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive.
Build of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace.
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions:
All are welcome, ALL are welcome, ALL ARE WELCOME in this place.

These are highly aspirational words, and appropriately so. Notice the repetition in the last line, and how it adds weight to those words. It is reflected in the melody. Notice the poets use of the collectives “us” and “all.” You know the difference between talking the talk, and walking the walk. As we prepare the way for 2021 and beyond, let us find ways to put shoes on our aspirations.

Thank you to the team of volunteers who were on-call to unload the new chairs: Bob and Rorie Chinnock, Laura Hauck, Chuck Sween, David Delforge, Eric Larson, Tony Sie, Chris Gray, Larry Belfanz and Jeni Stifter! Pictures of the chairs set up in the sanctuary will be shared once a few projects are completed. |

Volunteers Needed on November 19 |
A drive-through FFA is a wonderful way to serve people in our community! Please email Kanitta Rentfrow if you are able to volunteer from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on November 19. Due to the pandemic, we are encouraging those at risk to refrain from volunteering at this time.
All volunteers must wear gloves and a mask at all times, a yellow vest, comfortable shoes, and needs to dress appropriately for being outdoors in shifts. You will need to bring a mask with you. Gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided.

"Do Not Be Afraid" A Virtual Christmas Pageant |
Despite all the plans that COVID-19 has forced us to cancel, we are excited to announce that the Christmas Narrative is STILL on!
This year, we will be recording a completely virtual Christmas Narrative and posting it on Christmas Eve. We will be using a brand-new script recently released by Illustrated Ministry, specifically written and designed for this year and the virtual age we are living in. It is still the traditional Christmas story, with all of the traditional characters, but it is cleverly set in the context of a parent telling a child the story of hope when he/she is scared. More details to come in the next few weeks!

The West entrances and drive lanes at the preschool entrance are under construction! Crown of Glory has contracted with Kusske Construction Company to begin Phase #1 of our parking lot remodel. Bob Chinnock, our volunteer building and grounds coordinator, will be the lead manager on the parking lot project. Our goal is to complete this first phase of the project before winter. Phase #1 of the parking lot project has been fully funded by the Pulte Land Swap Fund. We look forward to our new addition to the entrances and curbs along Cardinal Street on the West side of the parking lot! |

Building Use:

In-person indoor worship is on hold until further notice. We are moving towards a limited opening of our indoor space for two areas of ministry: Worship Teams and Outreach Teams. A detailed reopening plan for these two teams can be found here. Thank you for your support during these times.
- DS West Driving School instructors and students are using the church parking lot for behind the wheel instruction.
