Stay Connected
We are working to keep all of our Crown of Glory guests and members connected to our worship life, communications and happenings. Do you know of anyone who isn’t connected? Do you know of anyone who doesn’t have internet access at home? We are seeking your help in identifying anyone who is missing essential information from Crown of Glory. Please contact Kellie Bokusky to let us know how we can help everyone stay connected.

Music Notes from Tom Paulson
When Chancel Choir last rehearsed, we were 2-3 weeks away from beginning work on this song:

O day of peace that dimly shines, through all our hopes and prayers and dreams;
Guide us to justice, truth and love, delivered from our selfish schemes.
May swords of hate fall from our hands, our hearts from envy find release,
Till by God’s grace our warring world shall see Christ’s promised reign of peace.

Then shall the wolf dwell with the lamb, nor shall the fierce devour the small;
As beasts and cattle graze, a little child shall lead them all.
Then enemies shall learn to love, all creatures find their true accord;
The hope of peace shall be fulfilled, for all the earth shall know the Lord.

Take a listen. It is an amazing call to hope for a better world, a world free from war and divisions, a world when not only the wolf and the lamb live peacefully side by side, but even our politicians can work together for the benefit of all people. In this time of social distancing, especially between the sick and the healthy, I find hope in these words from the prophet Isaiah, and I see God’s promise of resurrection and new life.

Living Liturgy: Part 6
How might we experience the gospel text in our daily life? How might we enter the gate who is Jesus to find safe pasture and rest for our weary bodies? Perhaps we could join our hearts in prayer each night with these words from the Evening Prayer in the New Zealand Prayer Book:

Lord it is night.
The night is for stillness.
Let us be still in the presence of God.
It is night after a long day.
What has been done has been done;
what has not been done has not been done.
Let it be.
The night is dark.
Let our fears of the darkness
of the world and of our own lives
rest in you.
The night is quiet.
Let the quietness of your peace enfold us,
all dear to us, and all who have no peace.
The night heralds the dawn.
Let us look expectantly to a new day,
new joys, new possibilities.
In your name we pray.
Amen.
SPARK News
SPARK lesson for this week is about Early Believers in the resurrection! Acts 2:42-47 and 4:32-37. They were great at sharing food, clothing, money, their homes, and their faith! Generosity was contagious and the church family grew!
VBS 2020 Postponed
VBS is a wonderful tradition at Crown of Glory that we have been looking forward to sharing with all of you. Our leadership has been in prayerful conversation and have decided that out of concern for our children and all who will participate in VBS, we will postpone VBS until a later date. We may need to find or create new ways to share VBS with you this year. We will update you to unfolding plans, and hope that you will contact Gretchen with concerns and prayer needs so that we might stay in contact with you. We will get through this. We look forward to the time when we can gather together to celebrate VBS! God keep you in good health and good spirits!
