Crosswinds Newsletter

August 14, 2024 - Volume 734

A Word from the Pastor

The wait is finally over! Many people have asked about new church shirts, and we have assured you that they are in the works. Starting Sunday, we are opening a church merchandise store online, a “church merch” store if you will. On Sunday, we will share a link to the online store. You will be able to choose from a number of items, including shirts, sweatshirts, etc. Each will come with our new logo and name. We will share the link to the store via QR code and an email to the church. The church merch store will be open through the end of the month. You will order and pay for your items online to make it more convenient. Be sure to jump on this opportunity.

Also, I want to say “thank you” for showing up and serving this past Sunday for our Pop-Up Sunday

carnival. It was a great Sunday with just under 400 people in attendance. The carnival was a blast, even if it was a little toasty outside. I’m grateful that so many of you said “yes” to serving. It seems like with every event, more people are showing up. I can’t even begin to tell you how much that helps out the staff and bolsters the ministry of the church. Without you, we can’t do the things Jesus is calling us to do. Thank you for expanding what we can do to reach people and make disciples for Jesus.

Saturday, October 5, 2024!

Lord's Acre is a fun day where the entire church comes together to share in fellowship, auctions, children's activities, good food and fun! So while you travel this summer, keep in mind that unique gifts from out of town tend to be very popular in the auctions and consider picking something up to donate for Lord's Acre. For more information or questions please email Cheryl Weadon at cweadon@att.net or Amy Norman at amyenorman@yahoo.com.

THANK YOU

Thank You Church for your prayers, cards, phone calls and food brought after the passing of my sister Shirley Ann Hyles. Even though, for a few years she was not able to attend our church services, when I saw her, she would always ask about what was happening at the Methodist Church and wanting to know about the people in her Sunday School class. Many times she told me how much she really missed church services and seeing everyone.

Thank you to the Card Ministry for all your prayers and cards sent to Shirley during her battle with Alzheimers.

Jimmie Lou and Jim McClure.
