We are thrilled to announce new work-study commitments from the University of Central Florida and Rollins College. Through this partnership, a total of eight Cristo Rey students will help with various office roles at both campuses.
At UCF, four Cristo Rey students will be working on campus at the UCF Center for Community Schools, which does work toward supporting community public schools. As of now, fifteen local schools in Central Florida benefit from this program, and CRO students will soon be helping to carry out this important work that impacts local students.
“We are pleased to share in this transformative partnership with Cristo Rey Orlando High School. This collaboration aligns to our commitment to create holistic educational environments through community partnerships that support underrepresented students. By leveraging university resources, we aim to illuminate pathways to a brighter future, empowering students to flourish academically and professionally for lifelong success.”
– Dr. Amy Ellis, Director of UCF Center for Community Schools
At Rollins College, four of our students will also be working, this time in various departments, getting in-office experience while working directly with Rollins staff and faculty.
"Rollins College educates students for global citizenship and responsible leadership and we are delighted to share this journey with students from Cristo Rey. The mutually beneficial partnership gives Cristo Rey students the opportunity to work and learn at Rollins while Rollins gets the opportunity to learn from the students. We are excited to partner and have high hopes for this partnership."
- Sam Stark, Vice President of Communications & External Relations of Rollins College
We’re so excited to be partnering with both UCF and Rollins, who each have a tradition of excellence in higher education.
And it’s not just about what our students will bring to these schools, but it’s also about what these schools can bring to them. Our research on Cristo Rey graduates shows that exposure to college and university life is a transformative experience for them.
