Summer's Bounty Has Arrived! Tuesday, July 16th

2 - 6:30 p.m.

The LFM's 20th season continues to see record crowds and enthusiastic shoppers! To add to the market fun, in just the second week of our new POP Club kids program, we signed up more young shoppers ready to try new fruits and vegetables! To learn more, visit POP Club at Lexington Farmers' Market and stop by the Market Manager's Tent on Tuesdays from 2 - 6 pm to sign up!

With more hot weather forecast for this week's market, it is the perfect time to take advantage of pre-orders! You can order ahead, stop by the market to pick-up your waiting items and head back to the air conditioning in no time! Click here for pre-order information and know that your items will be waiting for you upon arrival. Whether shopping for vegetables, fruit, fresh fish, poultry or meats, ready-to-eat meals, salads or sandwiches, or a variety of baked goods, you will be assured of getting what you love from the LFM with ease.

For all of our shoppers missing JUST HUMMUS, your wait is over! Colin and the food truck will be back this week with hummus bowls, tahini, falafel and cold drinks. For additional onsite lunch options, check out CAPTAIN MARDEN SEAFOOD's lobster rolls and poke bowls, and OVENBIRD CAFE's slider sandwiches and savory hand pies! All of these vendors also offer great dinner items ready to take home and put on the table with little or no cooking required on these hot nights.

This week's biweekly vendors are NIEMY'S APIARY for all things honey, TEXMEX EATS bringing Texachusetts flavor to your meals, DEL'S COFFEE for the perfect iced coffee or freshly ground blend for your morning cup, and MIND.BODY.SNACK for a healthy superfood brownie or snack for a party, beach day or mountain hike. We are excited to welcome back WICKED BESS on a biweekly schedule bringing the artisan shrubs for the perfect crafted specialty cocktail or mocktail at home!

There will be beautiful cards, artwork and woodworking at the Artisans' tents with RIVERBEND ART PRINTS/NOTECARDS and UTEC WOODWORKING. Stop by and peruse their tables for unique items that support small local businesses. Visit the Community Tent to learn about the WIC NUTRITION PROGRAM which provides nutritional support for low-income mothers/children up to age 5 and learn how to enroll.

With school out for summer vacation, there is plenty available parking for the LFM. Student volunteers will be on hand once again to assist with all tasks that make our market a memorable one. Let us know if you need a hand getting to your car with all your purchases and be sure to check out the market map at the entrance when you arrive!

Before you arrive on opening day, please make sure to read through these important reminders

  • NO DOGS OR PETS ALLOWED: We love animals, but no dogs or pets are allowed in the market space per Board of Health regulations. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome.

POP CLUB (Power of Produce) for Kids!

This farmers’ market-based children’s program teaches kids ages 5-11 about fruits and vegetables, local food systems, and healthy food preparation through fun activities. Participants receive $2 weekly in POP Bucks to purchase fruits and vegetables from farmers. While they shop, they learn about new foods and how to eat seasonally, meet farmers, and make independent decisions about purchases, saving and budgeting. Stop by the Market Manager's tent from 2-6 pm to sign up!

Volunteer Opportunities with the LFM

We know there are folks out there looking for ways to get involved, and volunteering with the LFM is a great way to be part of the Lexington community!

  • The LFM welcomes volunteer assistance with market operations that take place outside of the market hours. This includes working on issues related to food equity and food insecurity, sustainability, outreach to local organizations and more. We would love to have you bring your knowledge and passion about local food and food equity to the LFM!

  • LHS students love to help at the market after school and over the summer, helping to greet customers, assist with SNAP transactions, conduct surveys, and support set-up and break-down of the market. This is a great community service opportunity for students and a hands-on way to learn about local food!

Come make a difference in your community! For more information, visit

the LFM Volunteers page on our website or email lexingtonfarmersmkt@gmail.com.

Bacon Corn & Tomato Pasta Salad

Sweet corn, spicy arugula, juicy tomatoes and vibrant green onions have appeared on the market tables during the past week or two. With these items coming into peak season, putting them together in a summer pasta salad makes delicious sense! With local veggies from LFM farmers and bacon from Copicut Farm, you will want to make this again and again!

As with all of the recipes we showcase, change the ingredients to suit your palate. Perhaps add some shell peas, replace the cheddar cheese with a sheep cheese from Black-Eyed Susan Sheep Dairy or use gluten-free pasta to meet your needs.
