Trash Can Decorating Contest Winners

Crossroads Arts Council recently partnered with the City of Wentzville to encourage school aged artists. The artists were challenged to create an image inspired by "My Favorite Things to do in the Park".

Winners were selected to have their creations transferred to covers which have been placed on trash cans in Heartland Park and Progress Park.

The winners were Sowmya Kollipara, Melody Messmer, Elise Allen and Adalynn Lauman (not pictured).

Patrick Nolan, one of CAC's founding members, passed away on August 2nd. We will miss our dear friend and are holding his family and friends in our thoughts.

UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS

2024 Quilt Show

Our annual Pieces of the Heart Quilt Show is coming up in October. This is an important fundraiser for us every year, so we need EVERYONE to get involved.

~ Ask family members for hand-me-down quilts to be part of the popular bed turning. With your background information, we share its family history, the pattern, fabric and meaning.

~ Finish your challenge mini-quilt with redwork embroidery.

~ If you have gifted a quilt recently, arrange with the recipient to borrow it for entry in the quilt show. (Entry forms are on the website).

~ Decide what you can create to donate to sell at the boutique. Christmas and holiday decor, baked goods, and handmade giftables are all popular items.

~ Mark your calendars with the dates of the show to bring your friends and to volunteer.
