Disconnect Your Hoses and Turn off Spigots
|

With temperatures dropping below freezing, pipes can quickly freeze and burst. This is a reminder to disconnect all outside hoses and turn off spigots. If you leave your home for an extended period, set your thermostat no lower than 55 degrees. These simple steps can protect your home from damage and costly repairs.

Register for the Covid Vaccine
|

The Lake County Health Department is pleased to announce that the Lake County AllVax Portal is open. All Lake County residents can now register to be notified when a COVID-19 vaccine is available to them. Registering online is easy and secure—just visit AllVax.lakecohealth.org. You can also register over the phone by calling the Lake County Health Department at (847) 377-8130.
By entering basic information and answering a few screening questions on the portal, you will be notified when a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available. You can register yourself and others on the portal. Once you are registered, you can also schedule your vaccination appointments through the Lake County clinics or facilities through the system when a vaccine is available to you. The portal also includes answers to frequently asked questions on COVID-19 vaccination.

Safety First! With any snowfall that our drivers are called out, the Fremont Highway Department needs your cooperation and is asking you not to park on the roads that they plow during a snow event.
It is also dangerous for our residents and drivers when you walk in the road during a snow event. The plow truck may not see you!
If your mailbox is damaged by a Fremont Township snowplow, please call 847 223-2848, or email them at highway@fremonttownship.com. Thank you for your help. Please pass this information along to your neighbors who may not receive our email newsletter.

The Fremont library offers curbside pick-up of materials, crafts, and printouts and are providing virtual programs. We are open to Fremont cardholders for computer use by appointment. Blood Drive December 12 at the Mundelein Fire Station

The Mundelein Fire Department is hosting a much-needed Blood Drive on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 3.p.m. The Blood Drive will be held in Vitalant’s Bloodmobile’s parked in parking lot at Station 1, 1000 N Midlothian. Appointments are highly recommended as the Bloodmobile has limited capabilities. Please call at 1-877-258-4825 or visit www.vitalant.org (http://www.vitalant.org) to make an appointment and use MN10.
If you cannot attend the Blood Drive on 12/12, here are a few more options: Schedule an appointment at their Lake Bluff location or make an appointment at the Blood Drive at Hawthorn Mall scheduled on 12/18 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. You can use code MN10 for both locations.

Jesse White Announces Closure of Driver Services Facilities until January 5, 2021
|
|
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White is announcing that Driver Services facilities statewide will remain closed for in-person transactions until Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
White is reminding the public that expirations for driver’s licenses and ID cards have been extended until June 1, 2021. Expanded Online Services White also has expanded online services for the public, which they can take advantage of by visiting www.cyberdriveillinois.com.
Many transactions with the Secretary of State’s office may be conducted online at www.cyberdriveillinois.com, some of which include:
Renewing a license plate sticker;
Renewing a valid driver’s license for qualifying drivers;
Renewing a valid ID card for those age 22-64 (seniors 65 and older have free, non- expiring IDs);
Obtaining a driver record abstract;
Filing Business Services documents, such as incorporations and annual reports

Recycle Items at Fremont Township
|
|
We accept yarn.
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, bring them to Fremont Township to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues. We do not accept pillows. There is a bin on the front porch of our Administrative Office.
Our shoe bin is also on our front porch and we are accepting shoes to be recycled and reused. We recycled 1547 pounds of shoes last year.
We also accept American Flags, hearing aids and eyeglasses inside the building.

Our door is locked so that we can maintain social distancing, but we are open. Our office is small and we are only allowing one resident in the building at a time. We are at the township and have not closed during Covid. We continue to provide the vital services our residents need.
