County receives nearly $500K for new EVs from Energize Delaware
New Castle County is receiving nearly $500,000 in funding from Energize Delaware for the purchase of new electric vehicles for the county fleet, charging stations to expand charging access at county facilities and new electric lawnmowers, which will dramatically reduce the county's current carbon emissions. Platinum Picnic returns, this year at Chase Center on the Riverfront
New Castle County's annual Platinum Picnic returned this year, but was a bigger and better event with a move to the Chase Center on the Riverfront on Wednesday morning. County crossing guard retires after 51 years on the job
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer paid a visit to county crossing guard Dee Nevares who celebrates her last day of work for the county today, after 51 years on the job. County raises rainbow, transgender and bisexual flags for Pride Month
New Castle County once again raised the rainbow, transgender and bisexual pride flags at the New Castle County Government Center this week in recognition of Pride Month. The flags will fly outside the Government Center until Caribbean Heritage Week on June 23rd when Caribbean flags will be raised. The County began raising the pride flags in 2021 in recognition of the 50th Pride Day.
