Lake County Gas Tax To be Voted On

County Board Member Jessica Vealitzek informed us the county board will be voting on a proposed gas tax of anywhere from 4-8 cents per gallon. She indicated she supports this proposal, but hasn't determined at which level. To view the meeting discussing,

Mundelein Farmer's Market Manager Position Available

The key to the Market’s success is having a good Market Manager at the helm. Because it requires weekly attendance and a good deal of preparatory work, the Market Manager is a paid position. The salary is $3,600 for the season. The Manager provides general supervision over the Market to make sure it functions smoothly. The manager solicits vendors, answers questions, resolves disputes, and coordinates with the Village of Mundelein.

They have a detailed manual on how to run the market, including vendor contacts, timelines, and suggestions for improvements to make the job easier. Experienced volunteers are available to help each week with set-up and take down. The Farmers Market normal hours of operation shall be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM every Friday, from June 18th to September 24th , 2021 as weather and produce availability permits

Early Voting Starts March 22

Fremont Township will again be your early voting location for the April election. This election you have local government offices on the ballot. To view your ballot or order a ballot by mail click here and enter your information.

Early Voting Hours:

March 22 - April 3

Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Saturday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Driver's License/Identification Card Renewal Driver Services

If you are eligible for the online renewal process, you will receive a letter with the required PIN approximately 90 days before your driver's license or ID card's expiration date. If you have not received a letter, check your eligibility now.

Senior Assessment Freeze Information

Fremont Assessor, Joe Herchenbach is reminding Fremont Township Property owners age 65 and older who have total household incomes of $65,000 or less to apply for the Senior Citizen’s Assessment Freeze. While applications were not required for this program in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, applications WILL BE REQUIRED in 2021. All applications must be submitted online by July 31, 2021 through the Chief County Assessment Office Smart E-Filing Portal. Please contact the office at 847 223-2846 if you need assistance. This not apply to Saddlebrook residents.

Animal Shelters in Need of Bedding and Towels

The local animal shelters are in need of sheets, towels, small throw rugs and blankets. There is a bin on our front porch at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein, if you have any old bedding you would like to donate. No pillows! The donations get distributed to local shelters. We also accept leashes, collars, toys, pet food etc. If you have other items, please put them in our textile bin in the parking lot. Click here to see what we accept.

Notary Services Available

We are able to notarize your documents at Fremont Township. Please call the office at 847 223-2847 to make sure the notary is in the office. There is no charge for this service.

We accept yarn in our office.

We accept eyeglasses and hearing aids in our office.

We accept American Flags in our office.

Our shoe bin is also on our front porch and we are accepting shoes to be recycled and reused. We recycled 1547 pounds of shoes last year.

The textile bin is also open and is located in our parking lot. Click here to see what we accept.

Our door is locked so that we can maintain social distancing, but we are open. Our office is small and we are only allowing one resident in the building at a time. We have not closed during Covid. We continue to provide the vital services our residents need.
