The Office of Sustainability is excited to welcome you to campus! We, and the entire College, are committed to fostering a campus culture that understands the power of actions and the impact on the environment and our planet.

At ESF, we believe that every individual can and should play a part in creating a more sustainable future. Our goal is to empower students, faculty, and staff to serve as sustainability advocates and champions. We have a robust set of sustainability goals, from plastic reduction and zero waste/circularity to carbon neutrality and energy reduction to education and engagement campaigns to sustainable built environments to wellness and belonging. We are actively working to create a positive impact on our campus and world.

We are focused on our actions in the present and shaping future leaders who will be part of the collective change to create a more just and regenerative future. Please follow us on Instagram (@ESFsustainability) and join our sustainability email list.

We hope you notice the sustainable features around campus to encourage our community to be environmental stewards. Stay tuned for updates about upcoming events, workshops, and ways to get involved. You will find so many opportunities at ESF. Welcome!

ESF's long-standing relationship with Syracuse University includes a wide variety of meal plan options and dining choices with convenient locations and hours available to all ESF students.

All first-year students living in Centennial Hall are required by ESF to purchase a meal plan through Syracuse University.

In addition to choosing one of SU's block meal plan options — Block 85 or Block 130 — you must also purchase $500 in 'CUSE Cash each semester. (Unused fall ‘CUSE Cash will roll over to the spring semester and will be refunded at the end of spring semester if unused.) This provides students with additional meals throughout the semester.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DINING DOLLARS AND ‘CUSE CASH?

Dining Dollars

'CUSE Cash

Purchase them with a meal plan

DO NOT roll over

Used during current semester only, and cannot be refunded

Can be used at Dining Halls

More information about Meal Plan Dining Dollars can be found here.

Purchase them any time; purchased separately from a meal plan

DO roll over

Can be refunded

Can be used at a wide variety of locations for food, goods, and services

More information about 'CUSE Cash can be found here.

HOW DO I SELECT AND PAY FOR A SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY MEAL PLAN?

Meal plan selections can be made by logging in to Housing self-service in MySlice starting in early August. Meal plan changes can be made until the end of the second week of each semester and spring semester meal plans will default to the previous semester’s meal plan selection.

The charge for your meal plan and the purchase of 'CUSE Cash will be billed through your SU Bursar’s Office account, not your ESF account. You will be responsible for any use of financial aid to fund these costs at the time of payment. Bills for meal plans will go out Sept. 23 and are due Oct. 14.
