Council Election Ballots Due Friday, May 24


If you haven’t completed your ballot for the OLLI Council election yet, please be sure to submit it by 5:00pm PDT on Friday, May 24.


This year we have five candidates for three open seats:

Myrna Hall, Timothy Kelly, John Schuyler, and Sarah Tisch.


To learn more about the candidates this year you can view their bios and photos and view a recording of the candidates forum.


Members with individual email accounts were emailed a unique link to your personal ballot on May 17 (subject line: “Official Ballot 2024 OLLI Council Election”). Those who share an email with another member or do not have an email address were sent a paper ballot in the mail. Course Proposals

Turn in your proposal for a fall OLLI at SOU course through Friday, May 31! OLLI members are an intellectually curious group looking to be creative, challenged, and to learn something outside their usual realm. There is an audience for nearly any topic you could bring to the fall OLLI at SOU catalog. Physics. Braiding. Hiking. Spiritual growth. Make a course out of your knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm.

Mark your calendars for the following Talk to Us series, where OLLI members John Ferris and Barry Vitcov hold one-hour Zoom interviews with accomplished people who make a difference in Southern Oregon and beyond.

Monday, May 20, 4:00 p.m. PT – Ashland artist John Pugh, internationally known for creating large trompe-l’oeil wall murals giving the illusion of a three-dimensional scene behind the wall. John Pugh has proposed and designed a large scale mural for the side of the Elk’s club in downtown Ashland.

Intergenerational Discussion with SOU Students

A psychology faculty member at SOU is inviting community volunteers to watch the

movie Robot and Frank (2012) with SOU students and collectively discuss their insights on the topic of aging, technology, and humanity. Discussion questions and the free movie link will also be sent to the volunteers in advance.
