COVID-19 Survey ...
for Parents and Teachers
Defending the Early Years invites all parents and teachers of children from birth to third grade to help us understand the impact of COVID-19 on young children, their families, and their teachers, including remote instruction.
Please take a moment to complete this survey by clicking the link below:
Help us share the link to the survey, far and wide. Send to friends, family, and colleagues. The more parents and teachers who participate, the more we will learn. We will analyze and share the results at a later date.

"Audrey Duck Asks, 'Why are People Protesting?'"
With the U.S. and the world entering a third week of protests around
racial injustice, inspired by the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers, Defending the Early Years (DEY) is encouraging teachers and parents to talk with their young children to help them understand the issues and emotions around the uprising.
A new video resource by author, psychologist, and award-winning ventriloquist, Susan Linn, Ed.D., features her puppet, Audrey Duck talking candidly with Defending the Early Years co-director, Denisha Jones, Ph.D., J.D., about racism, the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers, the importance of protesting to end racism, dealing with anger and sadness, and more.
