Samaritan's Purse Coppell Center Aids Missions Regionally & Around The World
The Samaritan’s Purse Southwest Ministry Center located in Coppell is a regional base for several of the international relief organization’s projects, including U.S. Disaster Relief and Operation Christmas Child. The Coppell facility is one of four such ministry centers across the U.S. providing regional disaster relief, training events, and the processing of Operation Christmas Child gift-filled shoeboxes for children around the world.
This past year, Samaritan’s Purse deployed disaster relief equipment and resources from the ministry center in Coppell to help storm victims in Perryton, Texas; Shawnee and Tulsa, Oklahoma; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Rolling Fork, Mississippi. In addition, 15,000 volunteers serving in the facility’s warehouse prepared more than 1 million shoebox gifts for international shipping.
Taking its name from the story of the Good Samaritan described in the Bible, Samaritan’s Purse helps hurting people and proclaims the hope of the Gospel in Jesus’ name. Led by Franklin Graham, the nondenominational evangelical Christian organization provides spiritual and physical aid to victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love.
