TO OUR YTC COMMUNITY,
The weather is a little iffy... that means we made it to June!
We are grateful to have had another wonderful winter under our belt. Your enthusiasm throughout the season was infectious. Our staff appreciates every chance we get to work with you.
May was designated as "the official tennis month" by the USTA... but as you know, tennis is all year round for us ;-).
We had several things going on in the building, but most important was our raffle to kick of tennis month. We want to thank YTC staffers Robert, KJ, Noelle and Mary Lou for overseeing the details and our partner White + Warren lead by Maisy Curto (this was her idea). Most importantly, the friends of YTC who not only support our club, but participate in our community efforts. We managed to raise $5368 dollars for the American Heart Association's, Go Red for Women, Campaign.
Our building was full of varying tennis levels celebrating all that is tennis. We ran beginner junior and adult classes (and still continuing) with brand new sets of players; we continued our adaptive tennis program with the Arc of Westchester (volunteer run by Coach Rene); we hosted Junior UTR matchplay and Adult USTA and in-house leagues & capped it off with our resident college team St. Thomas Aquinas Women securing a hard fought win (at YTC) to qualify for the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championships!
We are not just about a certain level of tennis, we cater to everyones' ability, level and skillset. We get you where you need to go.
After you look through the rest of our Spring/Summer line-up of playing opportunities at YTC, please help us grow the game of tennis by sending this newsletter to a person who you think should be playing tennis. The 1st session of Learn Tennis Now is concluding this week with 40 players signed up. We have more room to create the next wave of tennis fanatics!
This past month also gave us a chance to say goodbye to long time YTC faces of Julie Meyer & Efrain Buritica, both of whom have worked at the tennis center for over 20 years. Pictures of our staff get together and winners of escape room (my team 😏) are at the end of the newsletter.
We are here because you choose tennis as a contact point to mental & physical health, as well as a continuing bridge to build friendships. Thank you for your incredible support and continued participation throughout our building.
We are YTC, YOUR Tennis Center!
