PROJECT LOCATION: LVRT Rail Trail Corridor
PROJECT UPDATES: Flood prevention and repair work due to the 2022 December floods continues in East Fairfield (MP 75-78) and Fletcher (MPs 68-72). Surface course and ballast stabilization work are currently in progress.

Some exciting milestones for the LVRT are happening! The grand opening of the trail will be held on July 15th, details below. The new Vermont Rail Trail System website is live which includes the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail, BeeBe Spur Rail Trail, and Delaware & Hudson Rail Trail, details below.

Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Celebration
Governor Phil Scott and Senator Bernie Sanders invite towns to showcase their communities and participate in a celebration of the completed rail trail
 
What: Governor Scott and Senator Sanders invite communities and the public to participate in a celebration of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail -- now the longest rail trail in New England!

When: Saturday, July 15, 2023; 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
 
7:30 a.m. – 7:50 a.m.: Swanton (location TBD), kick off and brief remarks
7:50 a.m. - 12:55 p.m.: Ride from Swanton to Morrisville (schedule of brief stops to come)
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Morrisville (location TBD), main event and celebration
2:00 p.m. - 6:25 p.m.: Ride from Morristown to St. Johnsbury (schedule of brief stops to come)
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.   St. Johnsbury (location TBD), end of ride celebration
 
*all times are approximate; a more detailed schedule will be issued closer to the event.
